Rae's POV
Sunshine, breezy wind, clear blue skies, it was a perfect day just to walk around. I would usually prefer the solitude, but walking around with a five boys wasn't so bad.
"It's really nice out." I really loved the outdoors, it could be so peaceful, calming. It's a place where I could really think, I could stay outside without talking to anyone, just sitting, relaxing.
"Yeah, quite lovely." Niall commented, his hand lightly brushing by mine. He was adorable, those typical type of guys that are so lovable it would impossible for anybody to hate them.
"We should go the park, yeah?" He turned to others, looking for probably some enthusiastic expressions like his. "You're such kid, Ni!" Louis ruffled Niall's hair, leaving his hair in a full fluffy mess.
"Hey!" His efforts of pay back were priceless, he was like a vulnerable little kid.
"Park sounds good," They all stopped when I gave my opinion, such odd guys. "Ahem, yeah. Definitely sounds good, I told you we should have gone there in the first place." Louis stopped messing with Niall, adjusting his shirt. Pretending like he was all for the idea all along.
Gigantic swirly slides, swing sets, and picnic tables covered the grassy field. "Swings!" I yelped, letting my inner child loose.
I ran ahead of the guys, settling myself on the middle swing. I watched the others follow along, sort of punching each other, like they were fighting over something. Eventually they all made it near me, four of them taking a swing and Harry coming up behind me.
"Need a push?" He asked politely. I watched my legs dangle for a moment, debating on whether I should let him be my little slave swing pusher, "hmmm, yeah."
He pushed me gently, but it was enough force to get me started. The wind around me increased as his hands pushed my back.
"I think I'm up high enough, thanks!" I shouted, trying to keep the pace I was going on the swing. Back and forth, back and forth. This was soothing, just being in the air. Then out of no where, the sound of the chain clattered, shaking a bit. I looked up, the swing set was a bit ancient. But before I could even stop, the chain snap, and that's all I could remember before everything went black.
Harry's POV
"Woah!" I ran quickly towards her, picking up her fragile body. "I think you pushed her to hard, mate." Zayn nudged my elbow, this was definitely no time for pointing fingers at me.
"C'mon." I ignored him, running quickly back to her house.
Ironic, huh? Her brother specifically told us not to hurt her, and what do we do? We watch her as she falls off an old swing set.
"Someone push the freaking doorbell!" I nearly shouted at the pale white, startled guys. "What are you id-" Erick froze for a moment, staring at his passed out sister in my hands.
"We weren't sure if we should have taken her to the hospital, I mean there wasn't any blood, she just hit her head and passed out…. I don't know." I rambled, I obviously have never been in a situation like this before.
Worry was written all over his face, but mostly shock. "Uh, get in the car. ALL of you. NOW." He demanded, and we willingly agreed.
Arriving to the local hospital was a rush, they took her off my hands transferring her to a gurney. I almost didn't want to give her up, for some reason. Holding her for that long made me some what attached.
"How did she faint?" His voice shook, this was a really different Erick and I'm pretty sure people rarely saw it.
"Uh, we were at the park. And Harry was pushing her on the swing, and all of a sudden it snapped." Liam informed him, because I very much couldn't.
"I'm sorry, I guess I pushed too hard. I didn't mean too, I'm sorry." Terrified, I was terrified. I don't want anything to happen to her and I most certainly don't like being the reason she is hurt.
"It's not your fault. It's no ones fault, no one knew that swing set would break." He fiddled with his fingers, staring ahead at the emergency room door.
Suddenly the door swung open, revealing a man in a long white lab coat, "erm, who's here for Rachel Harper?" We stood up all together, leaving the doctor flustered.
"I'm her brother." Erick stepped up, still nervous as ever. "She's fine. She has no concussion, and we already transferred her to a regular room." We sighed in relief, gosh this day just keeps coming.
"No, I don't want Jell-o. Thank you though." She was already awake when we entered her room, uneasy in her hospital bed.
Niall walked in, the only one cheerful one in the room, "I'll take that Jell-o cup!" The tiny nurse smiled, handing him the green jell-o cup, and his face brighten more than ever, making all of us burst into laughter.
"What? I never turn down food!" He said, mouth full of green giggly jell-o. Our laughter filled the whole room, but it slowly descended as everything started to get more serious.
"Are you feeling okay, baby?" Erick cooed, showing so much concern for Rae. "Yeah, I'm fine Erick. You can stop calling me that." She chuckled, but I could tell she wasn't all that comfortable that her brother was babying her.
"Alright, alright. Sorry, just a worried brother. You were okay with it when you were seven." There was finally real relief in his face, and probably all of ours. I was literally horrified, I thought I nearly killed her, my-our dream girl. But she seemed to be fine with everything, laughing at Niall's kidish self, Louis's jokes, Liam and Zayn's bickering, and everything else.
"You okay Harrbear? It wasn't your fault, you didn't know that the chain wasn't durable." She reassured, taking hold of my hand. That spark, that feeling that moved through my body when she touched my hand. The adrenaline and need I had for her when she passed out, I knew that wasn't any normal crush. I wasn't sure if this was how the guys felt, but this feeling was like I was drunk on love, intoxicated by her and I wanted nothing more than just to be with her, forever.
