Munich and Dachau

I wake up to sunlight. I look up and see my husband's beautiful face. The owl on his neck, just plainly beautiful. I remembered when he came home from his appointment, plugs gone, and ears stitched up. and then when he cut his hair and removed the padawan braid almost 3 weeks before the wedding.

Now, I was in Munich, with my husband. It was an understatement to say I was happy.

Tony stirs, his arms securing me in his as his breathing changes. His eyes flutter open, and his mouth spreads into a contagious smile. I pull myself up, my face now level to his, and kiss him sweetly.

"G'Morning, Love." I whisper against Tony's smiling lips.

"Morning." He repeats, his voice raspy from sleep. I get up from the bed, still in his key street shirt. I get to my luggage, and ruffle through the clothes that Leah packed me. She packed my panda sweater, not knowing I wore this the first day I saw Tony in 11 years. I grab in smiling, along with a pair of skinnies and undergarments.

I come out of the bathroom, to find Tony still in bed, watching my every movement.

"You wore that sweater the first day I saw you again." He breathes out, remembering the moment I recognized those wide brown eyes. "By the way, you look amazing in my shirts." He says as an afterthought.

"Get out of bed, you lazy arse." I saw, grabbing my brush and pulling it through my knotted red hair. Tony sighs and removes the comforter from his body, and getting out of the hotel bed. He goes through his luggage, and then turns towards the bathroom.

I take this moment of silence, and apply my eyeliner. I start humming Shine by Muse, as I pack everything up, neatly fitting my luggage in the hotel closet. He comes out of the bathroom, with his usual clothing. Key Street shirt with skinnies and vans. I lace my combat boots, courtesy of Leah, and intertwine my fingers in Tony's as we walk out of the room. The hotel had breakfast covered, in a bouffe style.

We mark our table, and go off to grab food. I have french toast, eggs, and a yogurt. Tony sits down with eggs, regular toast, and hashbrowns.

"So, my wife, how did you sleep?" He jokes.

"Well, my husband, I slept amazing, especially next to you. Did you sleep well, Love?" I retort.

"Of course." He chuckles. "Where do you wanna go today?" He asks.

"Um... I don't know. I mean, we aren't too far from Dachau." I offer. "I believe that everyone who has the chance should go, at least once." I explain.

Dachau was one of the first concentration camps opened.

"Makes sense, to learn from history." He agrees. We finish our food, and go back to the room, so Tony can grab a backpack and we can both get coats, since it was fall. Walking out of the hotel, and to the rental, it was comfortably silent.

The 24 minute ride is short lived, as we reach the parking lot. Tony and I both get out, and go buy tickets.

Once inside, we start to walk. Looking at all the different areas, that held so many bad memories. For Christ's sake, there were kids dying in this place. Scratch that, the fact innocent people died here, was enough to make me sick. The fact that kids were killed here, made me want to cry.

Tony and I start the slow walk through the camp. Anything we're saying, comes out in whispers.

After the long walk, we reach the end, where the boards talk about the invasion, and rescue, and the closing of the camp. Now, it was a memorial. We finally reach the exit, and get in the car, which was extremely cold. While warming up the car, and ourselves, Tony breaks the silence.

"I heard there's a good Greek restaurant around here. Wanna go there for lunch?" He asks. I nod and Tony pulls out of the parking lot.

We park in the lot of the Greek restaurant, and walk to the door. We step inside, and get lead to our table, and handed menus. We order drinks first, which was coffee for the both of us. How did I get this fucking lucky? I no longer have severe depression, and I have the best husband, not to mention the fact that we were best friends at some point. I can't help but smile to myself.

Our coffee comes, and we order our food, which just turned out to be a chicken Gyro for me, and a salad for Tony.(A/N: I know that coffee and salad doesn't mix, but like, it's cold and he's vegetarian... I know that vegetarian's aren't limited to salads all the time, but I can't think of anything else!!!)

Tony finishes his coffee well before the food shows up.

"What are we going to do once we get back to San Diego?" I ask, trying to boost conversation.

"I actually don't know, to be honest. I mean, you could always work at the hospital if you need to get out of the house, desperately." I take a moment of thought at the suggestion.

"I don't know, Tone. I mean, believe me, I love working with people, but I don't think I should be there. I mean, if you're on tour, I'm working odd hours, Luna's at home, it just won't work. Especially if we have a kid later down the line." I explain, turning down the thought of working at the hospital. "I mean, with my first hand knowledge, I could see if I could work at the school. I'm already educated in science and health. I remember 8th grade doing cellular structure and that stuff."

"If that works, I guess. It would be nice if you did that, though. Working at a school." Tony agrees.

"Then I'll talk to them about requirements when we get back to San Diego." I confirm. Just then our food comes out, and we eat straight away.

We go back to the hotel, and just lay around and talk until we get dinner from the hotel.

I lay my head on Tony's chest, his arms around me. I hear his breathing change, meaning he fell asleep. I blink at the wall, thinking about everything. I remember how all of my worries disappeared once I saw Mike again. My brother, Mike.

*~*Flashback*~*

I sit in the living room. My foster parents let me in, and said that Mike would be coming over soon. I had already caught up with them, explaining what happened all of those years, and such. And I explained Tony as well, being engaged.

My mother gave me a wide smile, I guess she knew that we were perfect for each other. My dad took a moment, but he was happy for me in the end. His problem was the fact I had grown up and became an adult, without him. In his eyes I was still his 16 year old adopted child, who needed to be cared for because she just came back from therapy in Virginia.

I hear the front door open, and Mike calls out to mom. "Mom! I'm here!" He walks in the living room. His voice had changed so much. He looks more grown up as well. I saw a shadow of a beard along his chin, cheeks, and upper lip.

"Hey, Mikey." I say, standing up. Mike looks at me, and the recognition hits him all at once.

"KAI!" He shouts, as he almost runs to me, pulling me into a tight hug. I felt all my worries drifting away.

*~*End of Flashback*~*

I felt my eyes getting heavy, and I let myself sleep.

A/N: I need to talk about something here. I don't know if you guys know, however, Dachau was one of the first concentration camps built and used. Sadly, many innocent people died in this camp, as well as other camps. Honestly, I just needed to bring it in, because I really feel that you should visit that place at least once in your life, if you have the chance. That being said, don't go to Germany just for that, also do it for visiting all over. But, if you have a chance, I suggest to go. The visit really opened my eyes to history, and how much things have changed and developed after that time period. Thank you for reading my story and AN!!!
