"I like your home mister monkie! It looks like the places my mama reads to me!" The little half demon looked around the place, her pinkish eyes sparkled as she took in the overgrown state of the ruins. "I think mama would really like this place, we should bring her!"

"Mister Monkie" or Sun Wukong looked defeated, he slid to the floor as tears began to flow from his eyes. He wasn't one to get emotional especially not over a women he only knew for a few centuries...but Li Jing was different...she didn't treat him like a demon like all the other celestial beings did. She wasn't uptight, sometimes she'd even break the rules with him. But...she's gone. It finally hit him, she's really gone isn't she?

It was all that bastard's fault! He warned Li Jing that he was horrible! He even offered for her to run away with him and live on Flower Fruit Mountain but she "had a duty to her family and emperor."  Wukong punched the wall, leaving a small crater behind. Yet the child didn't seem to flinch, as if she'd witnessed this a hundred times over and over. She instead sat in the corner, not making noise. her knees close to her chest but her gaze never left Wukong. It was cautious, he'd only ever seen that gaze come from warriors after years of battles.

He wiped his tears then got a good look at the kid. She was practically a spitting image of her father, the man who took Li Jing from this world. He felt a pit in his stomach as he continued to stare. He could feel hatred and resentment building. She had his eyes, though they notably were a more peachy kind of red...and for god's sake she had horns! The only thing that seemed to come from Li Jing was the freckles. He threw his head back against a pillar as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. It wasn't the kid's fault she looked so much like her father...but god did he loathe her for it...He felt horrible about feeling this way about a child, especially one he was entrusted to care for.

When he collected himself and pushed those feelings down he noticed the area had been significantly darker, what happened? The sun was shining just a moment ago. He heard the sound of shuffling and looked back. "WHAT THE-" He caught himself before he cursed somehow. His eyes were wide with horror and disgust.

He stood up immediately, freaked out as he saw the once small child fully in their demon form

He stood up immediately, freaked out as he saw the once small child fully in their demon form. FUCK that was scary. No wonder it had gotten so dark..They were the child of the demon of shadows. He would've killed the child right then and there, mistaking her for a smaller version of her dad had it not been the outline of them being a peach red just like the kid's eyes.

"Turn back right now." He spoke coldly. He glared at the kid, showing his obvious distaste for their form. The little demon tilted her head before turning back. She had a conflicted look on her face. "I guess your like mama..."

"What..?"

"Mama doesn't like me like this either. She never said so but I can tell I scare her." The demon girl frowned as she looked down at her own tiny hands, one of them still enveloped in shadow. "Am I that scary..? I don't think I am. Daddy doesn't think I am either."

When he heard her say "daddy" his emotions boiled over. He clenched his fists. "Your dad is just as much of a monster as you! If it wasn't for you-!" The child flinched. He stopped himself. He couldn't tell a child that if it wasn't for them, their mother would have lived a much happier life. He was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard sniffling.

The child was holding back tears, clutching their shirt as they sniffled. "I miss mama...Why did daddy have to take her...?" Wukong's eyes widened "Wait please don't cry-" It was too late. The flood gate's opened, she was bawling. Wukong looked around quickly for a solution. He found a Monkey plush stacked ontop of a pile. He threw it in her direction, it landed on the floor. she stopped her crying, confused. She picked it up, the soft plushie comforted her. She buried her face into the plush, wiping her tears on it as she hugged it.

"Are you good now...?" Wukong came back over with an awkward expression on his face. The girl nodded. Apparently the crying fit was what Wukong needed to break him from his clouded judgment...for now. He remembered she was just a child. "I'm...going to be taking care of you from now on...Your mom asked me to watch over you.." She just stared at him with puffy eyes. "Are you hungry..?" The kid shrugged. He took it as a yes. "Okay follow me..I'm sure I have some peaches or something back at my shack."

The child held out their hand for him to take, a pleading look in their eyes..He ignored it and continued walking. "When is mama coming back...?" There was silence for awhile. Wukong didn't know how to answer. "Not for awhile kid."
