The car was heated, keeping you warm as you stared at the white blanketed fields. Everything was covered in snow. The trees, the lamppost, the road. There was nothing that didn't have a touch of white what so ever.
"So how was the flight dear? Any turbulence? Any issues?" Your mother asked.
You were lost in your thoughts, remembering Sam's features. From his sweet Carmel eyes, to his pointy nose, down to his thin yet luscious lips that you couldn't help but crave to taste, feel his lips pressed against yours.
There was a bump on the road, causing the car to shake, along with you. You snapped out of your daydream immediately, grasping on to reality.
"Sorry, what did you say?" You exhaled, pushing your hair behind your ear.
Your mother shared a glance with your dad, and let out a soft chuckle. "Seems as though something is on your mind." She stammered. "Now does he have a name?"
You felt your stomach begin to churn. This was the last thing you ever wanted to talk about with your family. Especially when you knew you'd never see him again.
3 hours away from home.
This was going to be a very long drive.

The cold air hit your face immediately as you slipped out of the car. Staring endlessly at the house in front of you, thousands of thoughts roamed through you.
"Welcome home." Your mother smiled and pecked your cheek, before making her way inside.
The sight of a grey Honda caught your attention. It was your sisters. And in that very moment, you felt like throwing up.
"You okay kiddo?" Your dad asked, placing a hand on your shoulder.
You tried to take even breaths, but found it hard as you started to grow anxious. "Y-yea, I'm fine. I-I'm fine." You hesitated, forcing a smile.
He knew you like the back of his hand. Just by the look in your eyes, he could read that you weren't okay. But he wasn't going to push it.
Your dad was your rock. He was always there for you, even when you were heart broken.
"I'm glad you're here." He muttered. "I don't think I can get through this wedding without you. I'm sure if you weren't here, I'd kick his teeth in."
You squeezed his arm, your smile broadening as the image of your dad punching Michael flashed in your head.
"Shh. Come on now, if I have to play nice, you do too." You whispered. "Now let's go inside before mom has a cow."
He nodded, and carried your bags in.
You followed close behind, feeling your heart beat faster and louder with every step you took, you swore you heard your heart thump in your ears.
The house still looked exactly the same as it did before. But with added pictures of the bride and groom themselves.
"Well I'll be damned. I thought you were going to come up with some lame ass excuse and not show up." You heard the familiar taunting voice.
Turning on your heels, you met the gaze of your sister, Jo.
Her hair was pulled back in to a bun, exposing her pink cheeks. She had a few a drinks in her system and you knew things could heat up, fast.
"Well don't just stand there. Come give me a hug." She demanded.
You slowly walked toward her, and lazily wrapped an around her. She squeezed on to you, squealing with excitement.
Her scent was overbearing. It was a mixture of her perfume and alcohol.
