Iris's P.O.V.

Lilly and I watched with bated breath as Amelia peeked inside at his response. Her wide, blue doe-eyes welled with tears- we knew immediately what happened. He rejected her. I set my hand on Amelia's back, and Lilly gestured for her to give her the note. Amelia handed the note off sorrowfully. Lilly skimmed the note and looked completely appalled by it. She tossed the note to me. The note that Amelia had written was very sweet, I could tell that she had poured her heart into it. Dirk's response on the note was measly "not interested". I was happy that he hadn't said yes and led her on or anything, but he could've been at least a LITTLE nicer about it. Jeez. Talk about blunt. Now, I really didn't see why people liked him.

I stood up and threw the note in the garbage and sat back down.
"Hey, don't worry about him, Amelia. How about after school we go to Dairy Queen or something? You know, to make you feel better," I said to the sniffling sunflower that was Amelia.
"Yeah, that'd be fun! Plus ice cream fixes everything. Science says so," Lilly laughed.
"Yeah. Yeah. Let's do that," Amelia sniffled, as a small smile formed on her face.

As the final bell rang, the three of ran out of class, laughter resounding from the inside of our lungs. I grabbed Amelia and picked her up as we ran. She squealed with laughter, and Lilly jumped up onto my back.
"Oh my god, you guys are heavy!" I laughed out as I kicked open the door and headed into the parking lot. We ran all the way to my small, black convertible. The three of us hopped in and put the top down. As I began to pull out of the lot, I heard a familiar voice calling out my name.

I looked over my shoulder for the source of the sound. It was none other than my friend, Jake English. I waved a bit at him.
"Iris! Don't forget to Skype me later that way we can do our Calculus homework together, like we agreed we would!" he shouted.
"I won't forget!" I grinned. I began to wave goodbye until I noticed Dirk beside him. I stopped mid-wave to give Mr. Oh-So-Perfect Strider the luxury of seeing my middle finger, before tearing ass out of the parking lot.
