Iris's P.O.V.
The next day, Saturday, I headed out to my second job as a desk clerk for the local art gallery,I worked here every Saturday. I wanted to be an artist so I felt very at home there. I sat at the front desk, waiting for people to come and buy tickets. I smoothed my uniform's skirt and adjust the vest a bit. Then I heard the familiar jingle of the front door's bell, signaling that someone was here. I immediately perked up ready to greet whoever it was, but my mood was soon dampened when I saw that it was Roxy andhim. Jesus, why is he literally everywhere I go. What's next? Will I see him while I'm showering. Just a freaking creepy silhouette on the shower curtain like in that movie Psycho. Will he come for me in my dreams, like Freddy Krueger or some shit? Like DAMN. Come on Dirk, get it together.
Anyways, Roxy looked around thoughtfully before letting her eyes fall upon me. She squealed happily and ran over. She threw herself over the desk and pulled me into what I assumed to be her best attempt at an over-a-desk-hug. I laughed and patted her back. Roxy slid off the counter and grinned.
"I didn't know that you worked here!"she chirped. "I love this gallery so much."
"Yeah, me too. That's why I work here," I laughed.
"Dirky won't believe me when I say that this place is literally one of the BEST places on the planet," she pouted. "So I decided that I'd take him here and get a guide to show us a-" she started before she interrupted herself with a loud, over dramatic gasp. "Iris! What if YOU showed us around!" she squealed.
"Uh, no, no, I-" I started to mumble out, trying to think of an excuse to get out of this.
"Why not?" Dirk asked suddenly. He speaks. Who knew? I felt my eye twitch a bit in frustration.
"I'm working the front desk. I thought that would be obvious." I hissed, with metaphorical poison dripping off of my words. We proceeded to stare each other down; or at least I thought we did, I can't tell because of his dumb pointy shades.
"Iris, just show 'em around. I've got the desk," I heard my manager say from behind me.
"Fine," I mumbled as I moved out from behind the desk.
Fantastic. Fan-freaking-tastic.
