Iris's P.O.V.

Seriously, what is going on? I'm the school's resident circus freak. He's the school's resident prince. Not only have I been seeing him in public purely by coincidence, but now he was sitting by me. This situation is practically unheard of in high school, this really shouldn't be happening.

I blinked a bit in surprise. I stared at him. He stared back.
"Um, hi?" I said questioningly, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Hey," he responded coolly, as if this was the singular most normal thing on the face of the planet.
"What're you doing here?" I asked after a brief awkward pause.
"This is a school, what do you think I'm doing here?" he asked sarcastically, smirking a bit. I rolled my eyes.
"Ha ha, very funny, smartass," I retorted just as sarcastically. "Seriously though, why're you sitting here of all places? There's a million other seats in this cafeteria since no one is here. So why sit by me?"
"Well, it's not like it's illegal for me to sit here. You don't own the table," he answered.

I narrowed my eyes. I'd had enough of this beat-around-the-bush and avoiding of questions bullshit. I gave him a look, a look that said 'answer my questions dammit'. He sighed a bit.
"Fine. You've managed to pique my interest, happy now?" he finally answered.
"Have I? And how have I done that?" I smirked, as I turned in my seat to face him a bit better.
"Well, you really don't seem to like me. That's kind of a first for me. But it tells me that if we ever hung out that you wouldn't suck up to me or anything. You also seem to be quite a fireball, and yet you've shown a very soft side that you have. So, you've caused me to notice you, more than I notice anyone else," he answered without pause, and with complete sincerity.

To be honest, I was pretty surprised. I felt hear rise up my neck and threaten to burst onto my relatively pale face. I swallowed and forced the heat away quickly, jeez this guy...
"Yeah, okay...so what happens now?" I asked, still slightly flustered.
"I guess we should start hanging out," he answered simply, shrugged.
"Okay...it may be kind of weird for a while though," I muttered.
            "Why weird?" he asked.
"Because I know almost nothing about you. And you know almost nothing about me," I stated bluntly. He shrugged.
"Meh. That can be fixed relatively easily," he responded.
"You're serious about this aren't you? This isn't an elaborate scheme to humiliate me is it?" I asked, each word sounding more untrusting than the last. He nodded. I sighed. "Fine, then I am electing to trust you. Do not make me regret that decision," I warned. He nodded again.

"You can come over to my place after school. That way we can get to know each other," he purred in mock flirtation. I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"Yeah okay, whatever. Just text me your address later," I responded, as I scribbled my number on a scrap of paper and tossed it at him. I left after that, laughing quietly to myself.

                                                                     Gosh, what a weirdo.
