I'm Not a Bitch 100% of the Time

Iris's P.O.V.

      After my whole encounter with Dirk, I headed to the front of the school to wait around for Lilly and Amelia. I only stood around for about fifteen minutes before they both showed up. Both of the girls were grinning from ear to ear when they arrived, their eyes sparkly with happiness. Gosh, they were both way too cute for their own good.
            "Hey Iris!" Amelia chirped upon seeing me. I smiled back and waved.
            "So we were thinking that we could all hang out after school today. You in?" Lilly asked, smiling. I could feel my guts twist themselves into complicated knots; I didn't want to tell them no but I couldn't just blow off Dirk since we had already made plans earlier. Yeah, I know, I may act like a bitch about seventy percent of the time but I'm not a bitch all the time. I'm actually a pretty big softy, so I can't just blow people off or anything like that without good reason.

      I gulped, pressing my lips together to form a thin, pale line. I began to think of a way to go about telling them about my previous plans with the infamous Dirk Strider.
            "Well, uh, you see... I, um, already have plans with someone," I stated, feeling slightly sick.
            "Really? Well that's okay. Who're you going to hanging with?" Lilly asked, genuinely curious.
            "Um, don't freak out but Dirk invited me to come over to his house. No, nothing weird is going to happen. If he tries anything, I'll pepper spray him with the spray the queens gave me. No, I don't have a thing for him. We're just friends...or I guess we're going to become just friends?-" I began to ramble.
            "Iris, relax. We get it. We understand that you already made plans. So don't stress about it," Amelia smiled, putting her dainty hand on my shoulder. I sighed in relief.
            "Okay," I smiled back. "I'll hang out with you guys tomorrow or something. Cool?" I asked.
            "Cool," Lilly grinned.
