“Daddy?” Cass whined. I looked at her and laugh when I saw a smudge of ketchup on her cheeks. We were currently having dinner at condo/ apartment. It is very high – end though. Aiden actually rent in this building too. It is very elegant, the place we rent in is also fully furnished so, we don’t need to stress ourselves in buying furniture. And there is no stairs which is a relief. It is only 2 bedroom apartment 1 bathroom, a kitchen/dining room and living room. Our whole day were very tiring though. First and foremost I bought a car. Then we go to the mall and buy Cass her booster seat and a little shopping for the both of us. Then we went on tour to the neighborhood.

“Yes, Princess?” I wiped the smudge of ketchup on her cheeks.

“Where’s mommy?” she asked. I sigh. I don’t know how I’ll tell her she is really not her mommy. It is unfair to the girl too, being called mommy by a girl you don’t even know.

“She’s busy at work Princess.” I sigh. Maybe I’ll just talk to her to ask her to help me tell Cass about her not being her mom. When she is done eating I gave her a bath and tuck her in. I then went back to the kitchen to clean up the mess we made earlier. I looked at the clock. 8pm. Aiden’s still awake then.

“Den?”

“Oh. Hey A. What’s up?” he asked cheerfully. I sigh.

“Man. Cass is asking where’s her mommy.” he sigh.

“Im sorry man. But didn’t you tell her that the bitch is dead?” he asked. I laugh. I can imagine him scratching the back of his hair. He always does that whenever he is nervous or uncomfortable.

“Im not talking about her Den. It’s uhmmm….. your P.A.”

“Kristin?” he hesitantly asked. “Oh. Right!” he chuckled.

“So that’s her name then. Kristin.” I state. He laugh.

“You like her don’t you?” he asked laughing. I shake my head.

“What?! Man! I already have a kid to raise. And I think she’s not into a man with a kid already.” I frown. No woman nor man would want to be a mother to a kid that is not theirs. Wait. There’s one. Me!

“Man. It’s okay I understand you man. She’s hot! It’s okay to have a crush.” He thinks she’s hot? I can’t help but feel a little jealousy at that comment of his.

Kristin’s P.O.V

“Im home!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. My grandma’s head pop up to the doorway from the kitchen. She smiled at me and I walk to the kitchen. I still had that grin on my face and I can’t wait to tell them about the good news.

“You seem so happy today sweetie. Care to tell me what happened today?” grandma asked me smiling. “Meet any guy today?” she grinned at me. Urgh! Here she goes again. My gradma really wants me to get married already and have kids. She always tell me that im not getting any younger and she wants to see her grand babies before she passed. She is 72 now.

“You met a guy?” a deep husky voice asked me from behind.

“Grandpa!” I squeal at him and give him my power hug. He laugh at me.

“What happened today kiddo that makes you so happy today?” he asked. Grandma move closer to me. I can see excitement at her eyes, like I am about to tell her the secrets of the world. She is so childish but I love her anyways. I will do everything for these two.

“First, I’ve got a job.” I smiled. Both of them frown.

“Sweetie we already know that. 1 from a laundry shop and 1 as a sales clerk. Remember?” grandma mumbled.

“Okay. Let me explain. Don’t interrupt me okay?” the both nod. So I told them everything that happened to me since yesterday. From the moment I saw the signage to me coming back and signing a contract to the house that we will move in later. (That made grandma squeal like a teenage girl.) Then I explain them my job. Of course I left out about the little girl, that I don’t plan on telling them. Then I told them I both quit my two other jobs. After my speech, they both hugged tell me that they are happy for me. We pack just our clothes and some things but not the furniture and some appliances. It is already 5pm when we were done packing we load all of our things in the car. Grandpa drop all of the things he is holding once he saw the car. He loves car. He is a mechanic so that explains it. I ask Grandpa to drive it which he loves to do. We first head to the place grandpa work and he file his resignation. Grandma just babysit so we don’t need to go somewhere for her to file her resignation. She’ll just call them. I give grandpa instructions on how to go to the house. We arrive at the house it is already 9pm. Grandpa and Grandma cried when they both saw the house. Who wouldn’t? It is beautiful. Grandma got excited when she saw the kitchen. She loves to cook. I bet this is where I will always see her. Grandpa on the other hand start to unpack their things as Grandma excitedly made our dinner. After a few minutes I am done unpacking my things. I only had to unpack my clothes and some books so…. it is fast. I look around my room and sigh. My room is great. The walls are painted white though the floor is carpeted. I have a walk in closet vanity table a four poster queen size bed with matching side table and lamp on each side I also have a working table which is great. It is place near the balcony.  I then went to help grandpa unpack. I knock and enter when he told me to. He is done unpacking and just sitting on the sofa looking around. Their room is huge. It has a king size bed, a plasma t.v place on the opposite wall where their bed is, which allowed to watch while laying on the bed. They also have a book nook at one corner of the room. Their very own bathroom that has a tub. Wow! Grandma would clearly love a tub. It is her dream. I look at grandpa. He seemed sad. I sit beside him.

“What’s wrong grandpa?” he sigh.

“You know. This room, this house…..”he trailed  “Shelley and I have been dreaming of having our dream house before you know… I promise her someday we will be living in house where she can enjoy cooking with the best equipment there is, a garden that we would both maintain, we will someday retire and live a very relax life where we would just go visit our grandchildren.” he told me sadly.

“Grandpa..” I sigh

“Never in a million years I would have thought that dream would come true. It even exceed my imagination.” he smiled sadly at me. “Thank you Kristin.” I hugged him tight.

“You don’t have to say thank you grandpa. It is me who would be thankful. You and grandma and Daddy and mommy were the best thing that ever happen to me. When dad and mom died, I thought you would take me back to the orphanage where I came from. But no. you still take care of me and love me unconditionally. I can never ever can repay the love and support you guys gave me.” Our heart to heart were cut off by grandma’s yell at us saying dinner is ready. We both smiled and headed to the kitchen and eat our very first dinner at the house.
