Gojo wasn't focused during his training session. Levi kept knocking him to the ground, scolding him for not paying attention. How could he? Somehow, he's slowly losing his memories of Lucy in his universe. It was as if she never gone in the first place.
Everything seems to be going the way Lulu told me, Gojo thought as the group walked back to their hideout. He side-eyed Farlan, who was walking next to him. Gojo noticed how Farlan's posture would straighten whenever he was near, and how he would puff out his chest whenever Lucy was by him. Normally, Gojo would have teased the way Farlan kept looking at Lucy, who was walking beside Levi ahead of the group, but this is a serious situation he's in. The only thing that's changed is Farlan and Lulu breaking up, but what does that have to do with my memories of her fading away? When they reached their home, Gojo spotted a man in front of the staircase. Hmmm. Who's he?
Levi held his arm out to stop Lucy from walking further. The man saw them and put his pocket watch away.
"What's the deal, old man?" Isabel eyes the stranger suspiciously. "You want something?"
"I've come for a job request," the man stated.
Lucy narrowed her eyes as she crossed her arms and said, "We're not interested."
Farlan nodded. "Yeah, this isn't a handyman shop."
The man kept pushing, which made Gojo raise his brow. "I promise you a reward."
"Go home!" Levi shouted. He motioned for Lucy to follow him. Lucy nodded and walked alongside her brother, glaring at the stranger while doing so.
"I've already paid the desposit though."
The siblings stopped. Levi looked over his shoulder. "You're kidding, right?" Farlan questioned. "This is the first time we've seen you."
"That's true. But you should already know...about him." Gojo followed the man's line of sight. He saw two men helping a teenager inside a carriage, but Gojo didn't know the boy they were taking is Jan, a kid Levi and Lucy had helped a while ago before he arrived.
"Jan!" Farlan gasped.
Wait, that's Jan? Gojo thought. His eyes widened when he put the pieces together. Lucy, his Lucy, told him that this sketchy guy had a job for them. Except it was a trap for them to get captured.
"His leg is already at its limit," the man continued. "He needs to get treatment at a hospital on the surface..." He smirked at the eldest Ackerman. "Isn't that right, Levi?"
"Blackmail? Seriously?" Gojo stated boredly. "What happened to saying please and thank you every once in a while?"
"Be quiet," Levi sneered. He looked at the man. "What do you want?"

Gojo had to keep reminding himself that things are different here than in his world. He wanted to go with Levi and Lucy, but Lucy ordered him to follow Jan to make sure the story is true. Gojo wanted to just barge into the hospital and take Jan, but that would ruin the gang's chance to gain citizenship on the surface.
He glanced at Lucy, who was preparing for today's mission. There was no point hiding the suspicion and doubt on her face. Hell, she was very right to do so. Taking someone hostage and offering something they wouldn't be able to say no to. Gojo wanted to warn them, but there were two main problems.
1) He can't fuck up the timeline more than he already has.
2) Even if he wanted to tell them, there's no way any one of them would believe him. He can't exactly walk up to them and explain how he's from the future in a different universe, so he knows what's going to happen once they step foot out those doors. They would think he was crazy and kill him.
