The mission went way better than Gojo expected. It was a piece of cake to him. It wasn't even a mission, more like a rescue. There was a woman that kept getting beaten and harassed by one of the old geezers from The Underground. Levi spotted her one night when he was returning home. The woman was limping and her clothes were torn. She was about to collapse until he caught her. The woman recognized Levi and cried on his shoulder while begging him to help her. Levi agreed without hesitation.

Gojo knew why. When they broke into the geezers home, he was about to force himself on the woman. Gojo got a quick look at the female and noticed how the girl almost looked like Lucy. It didn't take him that long to realize why Levi would accept the job so quickly.

Back in his world, Lucy admitted into prostituting herself at a young age in order for her and Levi to survive. Levi found out and almost killed every one of Lucy's 'customers'. Gojo doesn't blame him one bit. He would have murdered anyone who laid a finger on her body.

Unfortunately, he had to play dumb and pretend he didn't know about their past. Now that Gojo thinks about it, Lucy has told him she tried to seduce Farlan when she first met him to see if he's trustworthy, yet she hasn't with him. Why though?

Now, back to the old pervert, the job was to simply scare him. Gojo did one better and actually best the crap out of him. Farlan's eyes nearly bugged out of his head when Gojo broke the man's arm with little to no effort. He made it look so easy that a toddler could do it, and that pissed him off.

It irked him more because Gojo was gloating how smoothly the job went and how he was awesome doing it.

"Oh, man. I didn't think the old fart would cry," Gojo laughed.

Farlan gave him an annoyed side-eye. "No one told you to break his arm."

"No one said I couldn't either. What's the big deal? He won't be bothering her anymore."

"Because that's not how we do things around here! The guy deserves the crap beaten out of him but  -"

"But, what?" Gojo questioned. "He needs to learn that his actions have consequences. What would you have done if it was Lulu?" He knew he struck a core when Farlan didn't answer. To be honest, Gojo would have done more than just break the geezers arm if it was Lucy.

"Stop calling her that," Farlan growled. "That's a stupid nickname."

Gojo shrugged while a cocky smirk came to his face. "Lulu doesn't seem bothered by it." He stuck his tongue out. "Looks like the only one bother by it is you."

Farlan clenched his teeth before he reached up and grabbed the collar of Gojo's shirt. "What the hell is your problem? You've been staring at my girl since day one."

"Uh, you would be staring too if you were around a girl like that every day," Gojo stated in a duh tone. He was trying so hard to blurt out the truth. "A woman like that needs -"

"She doesn't need anything from you!" Farlan snapped. "You think you can just waltz into our home and assume everyone is going to be your friend. Levi doesn't like you. I don't like you. And I know for damn sure Lucy doesn't like you either. You annoy the shit out of her."

The cocky smile on Gojo's face flattened. "Did she tell you that?"

"She doesn't have to! I've been with her long enough to know what pisses her off. You don't think I know your little game."

"And what game am I playing, dear Fartlan?"

Farlan growled at the nickname. "You're trying to get into her good graces so she would sleep with you! Get it through your arrogant head that she's with me."

Gojo let out a tired breath before placing a hand on Farlan's shoulder. "Jealousy isn't a good color on you, man," Gojo said. "And I thought you were supposed to be the level-headed one." He placed his thumb and pointer finger on his chin while pretending to be in deep thought. "Which makes me wonder why you're so upset that I'm giving Lulu attention? What's so different between me and the other men that find her attractive?"

This time, Gojo got into Farlan's personal space. He had to lean down while placing an accusing finger on Farlan's chest as another cocky grin appeared on his face.

"Maybe you feel threatened by me because you think I'm gonna steal her," he concluded. "I don't blame you. Everyone loves me." Farlan glared at him. His hand clenched against his side as he fought back the urge to punch him. "We've talked long enough. Let's head back so I can tell Lulu how amazing I did. Who knows? She might reward me with a kiss."

Gojo left no room for Farlan to argue because he turned around and headed back to the hideout.

"Sweetie, we're home!" Gojo sang from the top of his lungs as he kicked the door open. Farlan glared at the back of Gojo's head.

"Stop screaming, brat," Levi scolded him as he and Lucy arrived.

Gojo noticed something was off about Lucy. She would have scolded him for kicking the door, but her eyes were kept on Farlan. Gojo couldn't place the emotion because he forgot how well Lucy kept her feelings hidden. No one could tell what's on her mind except for Levi.

Farlan walked over to wrap an arm around Lucy but she took a step back. "We have to talk," she said. She looked between Levi and Gojo. "Alone."

"But we just got here!" Gojo whined. He winced when Levi grabbed his upper arm rather harshly and pulled him out of the room. "Ow, ow, ow, Levi-bro!"

Farlan let out an annoyed sigh. "He's a handful," he chuckled before looking at Lucy. "So what do you want to talk to me about?"

Farlan felt his heart shattering to a billion pieces. He could hear his blood pumping in his ears as the last 10 minutes kept replaying in his head like a broken record.

We should end this now before things get too serious.

It wasn't a conversation he expected. He thought Lucy wanted to talk about the job, not break up with him.

Farlan wondered what he did to make her end their relationship. He thought Lucy was his forever and even tried to propose to her. Did that mean she was going to say no to him earlier? How long has she been feeling this way? Farlan didn't understand because she seemed so...happy.

Lucy was happy whenever she's with him. She thought Farlan found the courage to propose to her. Usually, she's never wrong about situations like this. Lucy would have said yes if he popped the question. Except when he didn't, she began to think maybe he didn't want to take things further.

Of course, she voiced her decision to Levi. He looked at his sister as if she'd gone insane. Levi knew how much the two loved each other, but he couldn't just tell his sister to stay in a relationship if she thought it's not going anywhere. He could only nod his head and say I hope you know what you're doing. In translation, he means 'This better not drive a wedge between us.' Which also means he doesn't want the group to separate because Farlan's getting over a broken heart.

Isabel walked back to base with a huge smile. "Hello!" she greeted Farlan. Farlan was sitting on one of the stools, his head hung low, and his hands clenching on top of the table. Isabel walked closer to see tears streaming down his face. "Woah, what's wrong? Did something happen to Levi-bro or Big sis?"

Farlan took deep breaths before looking at Isabel and told her everything that had happened since he came back.

"She dumped you?!" Isabel shouted in shock. "Why? You two were my ultimate couple! What did Levi-bro say?"

"I don't know, ok!" Farlan shouted. He took another deep breath before apologizing for his outburst. "I don't know." He ran his fingers through his hair. "And just when I was going to propose too. It hurts thinking about it, but I have to push this aside for the good of the team." He didn't hear a response, so he looked at Isabel, only to find her eyes wide with her mouth opened.

"You were going to do...WHAT?!"
