Your POV:
"I'm so nervous!" I yelled.
"Y/N sit down." My host mom said. She laughed. "You're more nervous than the players are."
We were a few minutes into the final. The US was about to take a corner.
"Come on Pinoe." I said.
"Played in short on the ground good shot GOAL!"
"GOOALLLL!" I looked at my host dad. "CARLI LLOYD!" I yelled in his face. We started clapping.
"Carli Lloyd again!"
We kept watching. The nerves settled a little bit but we were only up by 1 and Japan has played well this World Cup.
"They have a free kick." My "brother" said. I looked at him. "Good thing they didn't hurt my Tobin." He winked.
I laughed. "Cheney's taking it." I said.
"On the whistle Holiday will strike. Sending it low again the flick by Johnston, loose GOAL!"
I laughed.
"Carli Lloyd again 2-0 US!"
"CARLI LLOYD!!!!" I screamed.
The game went on and it was still 2-0. Japan began to attack more and the nerves game back.
"The US attacking now with numbers in white. Krieger sending it in intended for Morgan! Holiday! GOAL! 3-0 US!"
"Oh my God!" I said. It was still the first half but now I had a feeling we were gonna win it.
"How you feeling now? Still nervous?"
I nodded. "Little bit."
Carli took the shot from midfield. "What is she? Carli what the hell!" I watched the ball.
"OFF THE POST AND IN! HAT TRICK FOR LLOYD!"
"We're winning this!" I stood up. "It's hot in here."
"It's cooler outside."
"COOL!" I ran outside and stood on the porch and watched through the window! "USA USA USA!"
Halftime came and I finally relaxed. I walked outside to the rest of the family. I stood on the deck. "How's it going?"
"4-1. We're winning." I said sitting on the steps.
"Still nervous?" One of their friends asked.
"No. Carli Lloyd had my back."
"I think it's funny that you're on the team."
"Youth team." I corrected them. "I'm not at that level yet."
"Just wait. You'll get the call." They smiled.
We went back inside and watched the second half. Johnston scored an own goal and now it was 4-2.
"Damn Johnston."
I sighed. "It's alright. We're still in this." I watched the game. A few minutes later Tobin scored. "It's all over." I laughed.
"That's it! The drought is over! The US wins the 2015 Women's World Cup."
My host family jumped around and screamed.
"Y/N! They did it!!"
We watched the presentation and I smiled the whole time. "They won it before you were born, when you were 1 and now 17." My host dad laughed. "And you'll be there when they attack it in 2019." He hugged me.
"Let's hope so."
A few months later I would get a call from Jill Ellis towards the end of the victory tour.
"You've been invited to training camp."
Sorry this took so long it was a crazy week and I was barely home but here it is! This was the intended chapter but I was re-watching the word cup matches (someone posted them on YouTube) and thought why not do this sort of flashback chapter. Most of the events that happened are actually what happened with me watching the final only I was watching with my aunt and sister not parents. But I hope you enjoy! The wedding is coming soon! - Hannah
