I wake up from all the yelling. I walk downstairs and see who was there. Saida was arguing with Ahmed. I drag myself putting my fingers through my hair. "What is all this yelling for?" I ask. They ignore me and continued yelling. "Stop!" I yell. The both turn to look at me. They both walk off in different directions. I roll my eyes and head back to my room.

I clean up and change. I put on my hijab and head down stairs. I sit down eat my breakfast. I now realize everyone was gone. I dial my mom's number. "Salam," she says. "Salam Ma, where are you guys?" I ask. "Alia had a doctor appointment, Khalil and Ahmed went somewhere and your Dad is with us," she says. "Did Sadia and them go home?" I question. "Yes," she says. "Ok," I say salaaming her before hanging up.

I didn't want to be in this house alone so I go for a walk. Salaamu alaykum I get a text from Tarik. We have been texting for month and a half now. It was actually fun texting him, since I'm bored all the time and he never really did anything. I reply salaaming him.

I sit down at the swings in the park. So my parents were talking able the wedding I tell him. Every chance they get they ask me what day we want the wedding so they can start inviting people. I kept telling them I'll ask Tarik but I kept forgetting. What did they say? He asks. They want to know the day we want it I text him.

My phone starts ringing and it was Tarik. I answer, I didn't really like talking on the phone because I felt as if I would say the wrong thing. "Salaam," he says. "Salaam," I respond. "I thought we should talk about this... not text," he says. I nod as if he could see me, when it came to us actually talking it was hard for me to talk it was easier to text. That's why we only talked about five times.

"So, when exactly do your parents want it?" he asks. "They suggest that in two weeks or so... because they already started planning and I think that's why they leave every morning," I tell him. He laughs "they are trying to have a surprise wedding for you?' he asks. I just laugh not responding. "I think your parents should pick the day," he suggests. "No... you don't know my parents, once you let them take control of something they go nuts with it... I think Laura should do it," I tell him. Everytime time my parents are told to do something they do their own thing and go crazy because they have too much control.

"I think we should do it on a Friday," he suggest. "I agree," I tell him. "So in two weeks on a Friday," he says. I guess that sounded ok. "Yeah... that sounds... ok," I say. "If you don't want that date... we can change it," he says. "No, its fine."

We talk a little then I hang up. I tell my parents the date once I get home. They were all so happy. My mom makes me start looking for a wedding dress. "Mint or turquoise," Lilia and Sadia say together and it was kind of scary. We were sitting in my room looking through wedding dress catologies. "These dresses are expensive," I say more to myself.

"Yeah, thats why you rent it, it cost less," Saida says. "But I don't want to rent... I want to buy it and then inshallah if I have a daughter she can wear it too," I say. "Wow... I should of done that for Mina (Amina)," Saida says sitting on the floor next to me.

There was a perfect wedding dress and it was only 280. I gasp, Lilia joins on the floor and stares at the dress I point. "You have to have it," Lilia says as if reading my mind. "I do," I mumble. "I thought Mom was picking your dress and paying for it," Sadia says as if it was normal. "Are you going crazy Mom showed me the dress she picked and I refused... It looks like a crazy rainbow... and plus that it was $2,000," I tell her shaking my head.

We sit there looking through more magazines and then finally decide on the mint colored abaya and rhinestone flats because I was unable to walk in heels and I refuse to fall on my face. We also picked some jewels and went to show my parents on what they thought.

"I wanted to buy it for you," my mom says sadly. "Mom, you've done so much for me... I just want to give you a break... and besides I don't want that crazy wedding... I just want the nikkah and that's it... and besides you don't have to invite all those people," I tell her. She smiles knowing what I was talking about. "Ok," she smiles.

As the wedding day became closer thing just started going crazy.
