I sit on the floor waiting for Saida to finish my henna; the only reason I let her do it was because she was a professional designer. I think it was an hour for my two hands and then another hour for my two feet. My mom does my hair as I wait for the henna to dry. I was not in the mood to spend money on professional hair designer or makeup artist.

She does a fishtail braid and stops and ties it into a ponytail and curls the remainder of my hair. The henna finally dries after an hour and a half. I wash it off and see that it turned out beautiful. Lilia does my makeup and I thank them all for what they have done for me. My mom leaves and my two cousins Aisha and Nadia walk in. Nadia gives me a hug and Aisha gives me a hug after. We all sit there for a while, then we pull out the Quran and start reading together like we use to do when we were little. Nadia and me were close even though we barely see each other.

After reading a couple of surahs we all change and we listen to Mufti Menk lecture. I love his talks they were very interesting and educating. It was only us girls in the house since the boys went to the mosque. All of us girls pray together and my mom lead the prayer since she was the oldest.

After prayer Lilia, Nadia, Aisha, Tasneem my other cousin and Hawo, Tasneem's sister and me all head up to my room to wait. I pull out my Quran to read more while the rest played an uno game. I take off my hijab and put it down next to me and sit criss cross on my bed to get comfortable and put my Kitab (Quran) in my lap.

There was knocking on my door. "Yaz, Tarik wants to come in," I hear Khalil say. "Wait a minute," I tell him. Lilia and the pick up their cards and head out the door. I pick up my hijab to put it on. Tarik walks in as I put my hijab on my head. I stare at him to see that he dressed up. Well I haven't seen him since the first time we met with my family. He just stands at the door like a statue. "Salamu alaykum," I say standing up and my scarf falls off sinces I didn't even wrap it, it was just laying on top of my head. "Wa alaikum as salam," he mumbles.

We stand there awkwardly. Tarik walks up to me. I stare up at him. "Hello wife," he smiles. I laugh at his attempt of trying to make things less awkward. "You look beautiful," he says. I smile looking down so he doesn't see me blush. He lifts up my head and I stare up at him and smile. He grabs my hands and I felt butterflies in my belly. I give him a hug and we stay like that for awhile. He looks at me after we stop hugging.

"Oh... I forgot I had a gift for you I'll be back, inshallah" he says. "It's ok... you don't have to go now," I suggest. "It's for your family too," he says. I nod sitting on my bed. He kiss my forehead and says salaam as he walks out. I walk out the room and watch him walk down the stairs, he looks up and smiles at me.

I go back in my room and Lilia and them all run back wanting to know what happen. Nothing happened so I had nothing to tell them. But for some odd reason I had this bad feeling in my gut that something bad was going to happen. I pray to God that everything is going to turn out ok.

An hour later Tarik still wasn't back which kind of got me worried. Ahmed runs up the stairs. "What wrong?" I ask. "It's Tarik," he says out of breath. "What happened?" I ask. "He was in an accident," Ahmed says catching his breath. I could of sworn my heart stop beating, I felt light head. "Accident... what accident?" I question not wanting this to be true. "Car... a man was driving like an idiot and then bam," Ahmed says. I honestly I hate the way Ahmed explains things it makes me want to have a panic attack. I sit down and kneel on the ground praying to God that everything was going to be ok. Tears roll down my eyes as Lilia and all my other cousins surround me praying along.

We head downstairs and Laura told us we had to wait for them to tell us which hospital. I stand by the door playing with my bracelet. Laura gets the hospital name and address and we all basically run to the cars. Saida was left behind to watch all the little kids.
