"Come on, Aragorn! Let's go horseback riding!" Thalawen called, running ahead of Aragorn to the stables. Aragorn laughed as he ran behind her.

"I win!" Thalawen said cheerfully, touching the old barn door. Aragorn leaned up against the side of the door and caught his breath.

"You're a fast runner, but how's your horseback riding?" Aragorn asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Let's find out." Thalawen said, swinging the barn door open and throwing Aragorn off balance. She laughed and trotted inside to a Appaloosa horse.

"Can I ride this one?" Thalawen asked, stroking the horses brown mane.

"Sure, her name is Aiglos." Aragorn said, helping Thalawen saddle the horse up.

"That's elvish, but what does it mean?" Thalawen asked.

"It means icicle." Aragorn laughed.

"Why did you name her Icicle?" Thalawen asked, hopping onto Aiglos' back.

"She runs smooth, like ice." Aragorn explained. He walked over and got out his horse. They both rode out into the open air.

"Where should we go?" Aragorn asked.

"Let's go into the forest." Thalawen suggested. Aragorn and Thalawen started their horses into a trot to the forest. Thalawen's long brown hair flew back behind her and her green eyes glowed with energy and excitement. Her heart was racing, mostly for Aragorn.

"Let's stop here for a break." Aragorn said, slowing down. He jumped off his horse and let her drink from the stream nearby. He helped Thalawen down from Aiglos and Aiglos happily drank from the stream. Thalawen was walking towards the stream when she tripped and fell into Aragorn's arms. She started laughing.

"Le fael." Thalawen said. [Thank You]

"Gellon ned i galar i chent lîn ned i gladhol." Aragorn said. [i love to see your eyes shine when you laugh]

Thalawen blushed and ducked her head. There was something about when he talked in elvish that just sent shivers down her spine.

Then they heard whispers.

"What does all that elvish stuff mean?"

"I'm a little rusty on my elvish but I think it means something about eyes shining and laughter."

"Well that helps a lot."

"Merry? Vili?" Aragorn called out.

"Crap!"

"They've seen us!"

"Come down from the tree." Thalawen shouted up into the short tree.

Merry fell down from the tree with a thump and Vili followed landing on top of him.

"Ow." Merry groaned.

"Sorry." Vili apologised.

"Were you spying on us again?" Aragorn asked.

"Maybe..." Merry said, trying not to make eye contact.

"Can you at least tell us what you were saying in elvish?" Vili pleaded.

"Pedin i phith in aníron, a nin ú-cheniathog." Aragorn said, Thalawen giggled as she understood. [i can say what I want and you won't understand me]

"I can say what I want? Something like that, I should've studied my elvish more." Vili pouted.

"Maybe you two should get going." Thalawen suggested.

"Ego, mibo orch!" Vili shouted. [go kiss an orc] "sorry, but I picked that up from Tauriel who told me that once."

"We should leave." Aragorn said, taking Thalawen's hand and leading her towards the horses.

"Galu!" Vili shouted as they left.

"What did you say?" Merry asked.

"Goodbye." She smiled.

Thalawen and Aragorn arrived back at the stables and were putting their horses away.

"Thanks for the amazing day." Thalawen said.

"Thank you, too." Aragorn replied.

"Guren *níniatha n'i lû n'i a-govenitham." Thalawen said. [my heart shall weep till we meet again]

"Novaer." Aragorn said. [farewell]
