"Can I take off the blindfold yet? Where are we going?" Hali asked, putting her hands to make sure she didn't run into anything. Bard kept his hands firmly placed on her waist and led her towards a table in his house. He had set up a romantic dinner for the two of them.

"Ok, take off your blindfold." Bard said. Hali slipped off the band and gasped at the sight of the dinner.

"Wow! It's perfect!" Hali sat down and beckoned Bard to hurry up so they could eat. Bard sat down across from her. They started digging in.

"This is nice, Hali, we never really spend quality time together." Bard said. Hali was paying more attention to the food than to Bard but he didn't really mind much.

"Alright! Put your hands up, Bard!" Vili swung open the door and put her hands in the shape of a gun. Merry did a strange ninja roll into the house and pointed his "gun" at Bard.

"You two are under arrest!" Merry shouted.

"What for?" Hali laughed.

"For having pie and not telling me!" Vili shuffled over to the table and took the pie and ran out the door.

"You also took my blindfold!" Merry snatched the blindfold off the table and ran out the door behind Vili.

"Well, ok." Bard said, getting back to eating.

"Hey, after this maybe we could go for a boat ride or something?" Hali suggested.

"Da! Are you done your date yet?" Tilda entered the house.

"Tilda! I told you not to go in!" Sigrid scolded, coming in after her.

"Da! I can't find my fishing pole!" Bain shouted, following behind them.

"Kids! Not now." Bard said.

"But what am I supposed to do during your date?" Bain complained.

"I don't know, just can you leave us alone?" Bard asked.

"Fine." Bain left and Sigrid took Tilda out with Bain.

"Now back to our dinner." Bard said, taking a deep breath.

Alya and Elladan burst into the house.

"Have you seen Legolas?!" Alya shouted.

"Uh, no..." Hali replied.

"We can't find him and we need to distract him while Andromeda and Lais find Livia!" Elladan slightly explained the situation.

"Why do they need to find Livia? And why does Legolas need to be distracted?" Hali asked, giving them a confused look.

"No time to explain!" Alya said.

"Let's go search the Shire!" Elladan suggested. The couple raced out of the house in a hurry.

"Hopefully that was the last distraction." Bard laughed softly.

"Yeah, I want to finish this meal in peace." Hali said, finally eating some of her food.

"I worked too hard on this food for it to get cold." Bard chuckled. Hali smiled back at him.

"You know, I noticed something strange today, Faramir and Boromir haven't shown up a lot lately." Hali said.

"Do you miss them?" Bard said in a mock pity tone.

"Well sometimes they really get on my nerves." Hali said.

"What? Get on your nerves?!" Boromir and Faramir strode into the house.

"Oh no." Hali groaned.

"You're the one who gets on our nerves, Hals." Faramir said, snatching a roll off the table.

"The food isn't for you." Hali said, standing up and trying to take the roll away from him. Instead Faramir moved his arm away and tossed it to Boromir who caught it and took a bite.

"Yum! Now I know that you didn't bake these." Boromir teased.

"Get out!" Hali shouted, pointing at the door. Boromir and Faramir smirked at their cousin and then left.

"Now let's just finish this dinner so maybe we can go somewhere more private." Hali said, sitting down at the table again and hastily finishing her food.

Suddenly a fish flew in through the open window.

"What the heck?" Bard stood up and went to the window, Hali followed behind.

"Gollum! What are you doing?!" Hali shouted down at the creature on the dock.

"Precious wants someone to play with!" Gollum shouted back and threw another fish at them.

"Go somewhere else!" Bard shouted.

"There is good fishes here, Precious!" Gollum said, biting into a fish.

"Ew!" Hali exclaimed.

Bard stepped back and closed the window with a giant bang.

"Wow, I didn't know you were that strong." Hali said in awe.

"That wasn't me." Bard rushed outside and looked up to see Smaug perched on his roof.

"Good grief." Hali moaned.

"Smaug!" Bard shouted up at the dragon.

"Ah, Bow-Man! Your house has a particularly good view!" Smaug said, in his deep rumbly voice.

"Sorry, Hals for the horrible dinner." Bard apologised, looking down at the ground.

"It could've been better, but I just like spending time with you anyway." Hali said. She stood on tiptoes and pecked his cheek. He blushed madly and gave Hali a friendly hug.

"I like spending time with you too, Hali."
