Wanted (Lucaya)

Back Home

The cold air caused goosebumps to rise on my skin. I continued walking breathing in the cool New York air. I walked into the subway station letting the warmer air take me. Looking around it looked so different from the last time I was here.

Ten years ago that is.

I hopped on to Greenwich village. I can't believe I'm back home. Where everybody is. Where my friends are. Where Lucas is.

I let out a breath as I looked at the door. I haven't been here in years.

What if they don't want me here?

I shook my head. They missed me, hopefully. And with my last ounce of courage I knocked. A second passed. I felt nervousness flood me. Another second. I felt scared. Then the door opened. The warming smile on Riley's face tripled.

"Maya!" She screamed. I wrapped my arms around her. She started laughing, I joined her. "I missed you!" She told me. "I missed you too." I replied. Finally we let go. I see a teenager with his back turned still. He seemed focus.

"Auggie?" I asked tapping his shoulder. He turned to look at me in shock. "Maya?" I nodded. He quickly picked me laughing. I laughed too, though feeling old now that Auggie can hold me.

    "What's going on in here?" Cory asked annoyed. As soon as him and Topanga saw me they smiled. "Maya!" They both said. Soon they too engulfed me in hugs. "How are you?" She asked. I smiled. "I'm good, how is everyone?" I ask curiously. And soon we're all sitting down chatting about how our lives are now.

"Well I better get going. Lucas is waiting at home." Riley said standing up. I looked up at her. "At home?" I asked her. She nodded smiling. "Yup we live together now. It's so nice." She told me. I put on a fake smile. Her and Lucas live together. They really want to be official.

"I'll tell Lucas and Farkle we have a surprise for them." She said excitedly. I nodded along with her. "Okay I'll see you tomorrow." She gave me a quick hug before leaving. I looked down to the floor. My breathes coming out uneven and rough. My heart ached at the words.

Lucas is waiting at home.

I closed my eyes remembering where I am. If I do anything I can't be here. I just need to keep it together. "It was nice see you guys. I'll be back later." I told them. They all nodded saying bye as I left.

I opened my room door walking in slowly. I had calmed down in the way here. Thankfully. I knew they where together. What did I expect?

I expected Lucas. I expected Lucas for myself.

No. He has Riley. I ruined the chance to have anything a long time ago. I felt my eyes tear up at the memory. The wound was never healed. Lucas clearly was over it so I need to be too. Or at least act like it.

At least I'm home again.
