Hearing this, Jimin  happily slammed his books and notebooks shut and threw his arms around Yoongi’s neck. Yoongi laughed and teased, "Drama Queen."

He tucked Jimin into bed and lay down beside him. Jimin immediately crawled on top of him, pressing his lips against Yoongi’s in a lingering kiss.

The Next Day

The next morning, Jimin woke up and rubbed his eyes. Yoongi, dressed in a simple t-shirt and sweats, sat beside him. "You’re up...?"

"Aren't you going to the office today?" Jimin asked, surprised.

Yoongi sat closer. "Why? Do you not like it when I stay home?"

Jimin hugged him. "Of course I like it! But I know you have a reason for skipping today."

Yoongi pinched his nose. "You’re getting too intelligent for your own good."

"Ouch, Yoongi! Why are you pinching my nose?" Jimin whined, rubbing the spot.

He looked incredibly cute, making Yoongi laugh. "Alright, get up and freshen up. How much can you sleep?"

Jimin ignored the command and clung to him lazily. "I don't feel like moving."

"So much laziness in the morning? From tomorrow, I should take you to the gym with me to burn off this lethargy. Otherwise, I’m afraid I’ll have to carry you around in my arms forever," Yoongi teased.

"Very funny. I’m not laughing," Jimin retorted."

A playful smirk comes on yoongi's face, his fingers ruffled Jimin’s hair And said Ohh did I say something wrong, "sleepy head".

"Fine then," Jimin huffed, crossing his arms and turning his face away with a dramatic pout of fake anger. "If you’re going to be like that, then that's it. I’m not talking to you anymore. You are bad!"

Yoongi’s playful smirk faltered, his fingers pausing mid-air where he had been about to ruffle Jimin’s hair again.

The shift in his expression was subtle, but the light in his eyes dimmed as a shadow of a more serious thought crossed his mind.

Yoongi’s gaze stayed fixed on the wall, but he wasn't seeing the room anymore. The playful "I won't talk to you" from Jimin had acted like a jagged key, unlocking a door in his mind that he usually kept bolted shut.

The sounds of Jimin say faded, replaced by the echo of a much smaller voice from years ago.

Flashback:

"Momm... when is Dad going to come?" little Yoongi asked, bouncing on his heels near the window. "He said we were all going to the movies today!"

His mother sighed softly, wiping her hands on her apron. "Yoon-beta, he must be busy, right? You should learn something from Jin; look how quiet and patient she is."

"No, Mom! He’s always busy and you always save him," Yoongi pouted, his small fists clenching.

"Yoon, try to understand, it’s because of his work that he's running late..."

"No, Mom! Papa does this every single time! He makes a promise and then he breaks it. And you! You always take his side! I’m not talking to both of you anymore. You’re both bad!"
He had stormed out then, his vision blurring with hot, angry tears.

He didn't want toys or a big house; he just wanted his father to be home before he fell asleep. He wanted a weekend where the "work" didn't come first.

The memory shifted, turning dark and hazy. The scent of rain and iron filled his senses.
