They say one should never be arrogant, for every lion eventually meets its match. Yoongi finished the billing for Jimin’s and Tae’s clothes and led them out of the mall.
The entire way back, neither Tae nor Jimin uttered a word, knowing Yoongi was in a terrifying mood. Before even stepping into the car, Yoongi had thrown his phone onto the pavement, smashing it to pieces—simply because Sophie had snatched it and touched it.
Upon reaching home, Yoongi went straight to his room. Jimin hurried to Tae’s room and exhaled, "I don't know what kind of bad luck that girl brought to the mall today."
"Seriously! Hyung banned her from the mall forever. Not just that, I heard people whispering that her dad was an MLA, and Hyung already had him stripped of his post," Tae added.
Jimin sighed. "Yoongi is capable of that. I know how dangerous his anger can be."
It wasn't going to be easy for either of them to forget the mall incident. They knew that wherever Yoongi went, he naturally became the center of attraction, and since he had absolutely no interest in "flirting," situations like this escalated quickly.
After talking to Tae, Jimin gathered his courage and went to his room. Seeing it empty, he assumed Yoongi was in the study, but then he heard the sound of the shower. Jimin realized Yoongi had been home for nearly two hours—had he been in the bathroom the entire time?
"Yoongi, how long have you been in there?" Jimin called out, but his voice was drowned out by the spray of the water. Taking a deep breath, he opened the door and walked in.
He saw Yoongi standing shirtless under the shower.
The water cascading over his eight-pack muscular frame made him look incredibly attractive and hot. Jimin stood frozen, mesmerized.
"Yoongi!"
Yoongi finally realized Jimin was there. He turned around, his eyes locking onto Jimin. Yoongi reached out, grabbed Jimin’s hand, and pulled him under the spray, pinning him against his chest.
"Yoongi, how long have you been here...?" Jimin asked with trembling lips. Yoongi placed a finger over his lips. "Shhh..."
Jimin went silent. Yoongi held him close, but soon realized Jimin’s body was shivering. In his attempt to cool his own rage, Yoongi had been using freezing cold water. It was the rainy season, and the water was ice-cold. Jimin’s face had turned red from the chill.
Yoongi quickly shut off the shower, scooped Jimin into his arms, and carried him to the dressing room to dry him and change his clothes.
Yoongi knew Jimin was prone to catching fevers easily. He called the kitchen for hot soup and changed his own clothes. Seeing Jimin still shivering under the blankets, he scolded gently, "Who told you to come into the bathroom? I would have come out eventually."
Jimin just looked at him, then at Yoongi’s "stone-like" physique that seemed unaffected by the cold. When the soup arrived, Yoongi fed him, and Jimin clung to him for warmth.
"Go to sleep," Yoongi whispered, stroking his hair.
But Jimin, still captivated by the image of Yoongi under the shower, reached up and pressed his lips against Yoongi’s. They lost themselves in a passionate kiss, the tension of the day finally melting away. Late into the night, resting his head on Yoongi’s chest, Jimin asked, "Why were you so angry today?"
"It’s over, Jimin. Let it go," Yoongi replied.
It's over for us, but it’s just starting for them, Jimin thought, knowing Yoongi never revoked a decision. He soon drifted into a peaceful sleep in Yoongi’s arms.
The Next Morning:
The Meeting
Jimin helped Tae get ready, encouraging him to be confident. "Tae, chill! I didn't expect you to be this nervous."
"Easy for you to say," Tae grumbled. "You got a ready-made family; you didn't have to go through the 'meeting the parents' drama."
Jimin laughed as Tae sneaked out to avoid being seen all dressed up. Jungkook was waiting at the gate in his car. When he saw Tae in a stunning black dress, he was breathless.
"Wow, Tae. You look beautiful."
"Really?" Tae asked.
"I honestly want to skip the meeting and take you somewhere exciting instead," Jungkook teased as he started the car.
"Shut up and drive. It's your mom we're meeting," Tae retorted.
They arrived at a 5-star hotel and entered a private room. Inside, it wasn't just Jungkook’s mom, Kavita (49); there was also her friend Rajni and her daughter Akira (25).
Akira, dressed in a short red dress and diamond earrings, looked like a model and gave Tae a condescending look the moment he walked in.
"Looking beautiful," Kavita said, though her eyes held a coldness Tae couldn't place.
Jungkook ordered food, but Rajni chimed in snidely, "Order the most special dish, Jungkook. Tae should know what real luxury tastes like. It’s probably his first time here; let's not ruin the hotel's reputation."
Akira and Kavita chuckled. It was clear they were mocking Tae, assuming he was from a middle-class background because Jungkook hadn't told them the truth about the Singhania name. Tae didn't act like a typical "rich kid," which fueled their prejudice. They were there to show Tae that their worlds were too different.
The irony? The very hotel they were sitting in belonged to the Singhania family. It was a Min Hotel.
Since it was Sunday, Yoongi and Jimin were at home. Jimin was being playful, refusing to let Yoongi work.
"Yoongi, please... let's go out today!"
"Jimin, I have work," Yoongi tried to explain.
"Work! Work! This 'work' is like a second spouse always coming between us! I want to go out!" Jimin insisted. Exhausted, Yoongi finally relented. "Fine. Where to?"
"Let's go out to eat!" Jimin chirped.
They got ready and left. Jimin insisted on no driver or bodyguards—he wanted alone time. But he deliberately chose the same hotel where Tae was meeting Jungkook’s mom because he was worried about him.
Back at the table, Jungkook was starting to realize his mother’s intentions. He felt like laughing at how wrong her assumptions were. What would she do if I actually loved someone middle-class? he wondered.
But the truth was, Tae was the daughter of the wealthiest family in the country, and his brother Yoongi was a top global businessman.
The table was soon filled with exquisite dishes. Jungkook served Tae personally, which irked the women. Akira whispered to her mom, "Mom, I don't like this boy. You said you'd kick him out of Jungkook’s life today."
"Don't worry, Akira. Look at Kavita; she’s fuming. She’ll throw him out soon. After all, does he even have the status to stand among us?"
