Jin paused and continued, "Brother has endured so much pain, but he has finally received Jimin as the reward for all of it. He has become the cause of his happiness, and now, someone else is about to arrive too."
"Yes, you're right," Namjoon said, agreeing with jin. He added, "You know, these days Sir stays happy even at the office and is always in a hurry to get home... he even came back early today, actually at half-day."
"Really...?" Jin asked.
"Of course! How else do you think I managed to come home early?" Namjoon replied.
Namjoon and jin talked for a while and then planned to go out.
Meanwhile, Tae went to talk to Soobin about himself and Jungkook.
This news hit Soobin like a bolt of lightning; he never expected Tae to say something like this.
"Tae, why have you suddenly thought of this...? Tell me, what exactly happened?"
"Dad! I’ve made up my mind. I had to get engaged to Jungkook sooner or later, so I might as well do it now," Tae replied, but Soobin didn't seem satisfied with the answer.
Pressuring him, Soobin said, "Tae, I want to know the truth... are you making this decision under some kind of pressure? If that's the case, son, you don't need to worry. I will talk to Jungkook and his dad myself."
Tae quickly stopped him, saying, "Dad, I’ve thought a lot about this and I feel it’s the right move. There's no need for more debate. Besides, it’s just an engagement for now; the wedding will obviously happen only after our careers are settled."
"But it still doesn't feel right to me."
"Dad! Nothing is wrong. Just look at Jimin and Hyung.. Jimin is so young too, but he is very happy. And I’m only talking about an engagement, please agree."
Tae pleaded with Soobin. Soobin always gave in to Tae’s persistence; he loved Tae the most among his children, something that often made jin and Yeonga bit jealous. Soobin would usually pacify them by saying that since Tae was the youngest, he received extra affection.
"Fine, Tae...! Tell Jungkook to come over tomorrow. I want to talk to him once."
"Ok Dad!" Tae turned to leave, but Soobin stopped him. "Tae, are you sure that’s all there is to it?"
"Yes, Dad," Tae said. He felt a little guilty for not telling Soobin the underlying reason, but he was certain that if he did, Soobin would never allow the engagement to happen right now.
Tae left, but a seed of doubt remained in Soobin's mind. However, he felt helpless against Tae's stubbornness.
Elsewhere, Yoongi was sitting with Jimin in his lap, finishing some work on his phone. Jimin, getting irritated, finally spoke up: "Yoongi! You’ve been holding me like this for so long. I’m getting bored."
"Jimin, first you always used to complain that I never give you enough time, and now that I am, you're just complaining?"
"Yes, because you're just boring me..." Jimin retorted.
Yoongi chuckled. "Fine then! Tell me what you want to do. We'll do exactly that."
"Really...?"
"Yes," Yoongi promised.
"Okay then, let's play Ludo!" Jimin said with excitement.
Yoongi was completely stunned. He had never seen Jimin play Ludo before, nor had he ever mentioned it. But seeing Jimin's excitement at an all-time high, Yoongi didn't want to burst his bubble.
"Alright, let's play," Yoongi said.
As soon as Jimin heard those words, he beamed with joy. "Okay, give me your phone!"
Yoongi looked at him and handed over his phone without a word. Jimin quickly downloaded the Ludo game, chose colors for both of them, and started playing.
Yoongi was just watching the sheer speed with which Jimin was operating. Jimin wasn't usually this fast with other tasks.
"It's your turn!" Jimin nudged him.
Yoongi looked at the screen and rolled the dice. He rolled a six right at the start. Seeing this, Jimin remarked, "The one who gets a six right at the beginning always loses."
"And whose logic is that...?"
"Mine," Jimin stated confidently.
Throughout the game, Jimin was emotionally blackmailing Yoongi. Whenever Yoongi was about to capture one of Jimin's pieces, Jimin would pull a sad face.
Seeing that, Yoongi would purposely miss the move. Eventually, Jimin won.
He excitedly kissed Yoongi on the cheek and shouted, "I won!"
Seeing Jimin's joy, a smile spread across Yoongi’s face. His true happiness lay in Jimin's happiness, which is why he had lost on purpose. He was ready to lose again and again just to see that smile.
"Alright, you've had your fun. Now eat something; you haven't eaten in a long while," Yoongi said.
The mention of food made Jimin realize how hungry he actually was.
"Oh right! I completely forgot."
Yoongi pulled him close. "You remember everything else, but you forget the important things. Now you're even forgetting to eat..."
Jimin made a face. Yoongi had the food brought in and started feeding him. While eating, Jimin remembered his conversation with Tae.
"Yoongi! Tae has agreed to get engaged to Jungkook."
Yoongi, who was feeding Jimin, stopped mid-motion. He looked at Jimin and asked, "Why so suddenly?
He was refusing just yesterday."
"The fear of that incident is still in Tae's mind, and that fear is driving him to do this," Jimin explained. Taking a bite from Yoongi's hand, he continued, "I talked to Jungkook about it. He felt bad knowing the reason, but if it's what Tae wants, he has no problem with it."
Jimin spoke carefully; he didn't want Yoongi to form a negative opinion of Jungkook. Jungkook was a good guy, and it wasn't fair for anyone to judge him just because of the mess his mother created.
Yoongi nodded thoughtfully. "Jimin, I have no issue with Jungkook. If both of them want this, why would we object? However, the foundation of a relationship shouldn't be based on fear. If it is, there are high chances of the relationship crumbling later."
Jimin listened to Yoongi’s words in silence. Yoongi was right—one shouldn't base such a life-altering decision on a negative thought.
Trying to lighten the heavy atmosphere, Jimin quipped, "But I married you out of fear too, and nothing happened to our relationship!"
Yoongi glared at him as if warning him never to say that again. Jimin went quiet immediately. Yoongi pulled him into a hug and said, "Your fear was baseless."
"Oh really? When it comes to himself, all arguments change. My fear has no value in his eyes," Jimin thought to himself. Obviously, he couldn't say that out loud to Yoongi.
