3: Focus Katherine

Katherine's Pov

My Mother could be so overreacting sometimes, really, Vampiria has been in peace for like... I don't know, like ever since I was born I havent notice any times of war or fights ir conflicts. Why would she worry so much about me going out of the kingdom just to have fun? Not even out of the kingdom but also out of the royal headquaters of the castle. I love her but Im getting killed.

I needed her to know that I could fight, I was strong enough to fight whoever challenged me, I was ready, I was practicing very seriously. Even if something did happened to me, I had nothing to worry as long as I had my bestfriend by my side, Niall. I didnt know what I d do without him.

After meeting Mother, I went straight to my room and changed into a long blue dress, combed my hair neatly, took my bow and many arrows and I went straight to the practice area for archers. I decided to practice early today. Had to prove Mother I could defend myself, that I was strong.

Yup not an average Vampire Princess.

"Someone's early!"I heard this voice approaching soon as one arrow hit the center of the circle. I smiled when I saw Niall was standing there.

"I need to show Mother what I can do! So I can show her there's nothing to worry about going out of the kingdom!"I told him and he chuckled.

"Your Mother cares for you Kat! I'm not letting you go out anymore, she trusts me in this that you should be safe!"Niall said as he took a bow and arrows and stood next to me, he was also going to shoot to another target.

"What could happen to me seriously? We have no enemies, noone would dare come to Vampiria and disturb the peace!"I said and he sighed and his face looked worried and serious. Ok what was going on.

"No Katherine, we're not at peace, we have enemies, strong ones!"Niall said and I raised my eyebrows. We had enemies? How come? Mother always told me we make peace with the humans instead of killing them or feeding on them. What could possibly go wrong?

"Well its not a mere human thats gonna hurt me!"I said smiling like kinda showing off. He laughed but became serious again.

"Its not humans we're all worried about! We have vampire enemies, those ones you should be careful, the other kingdoms aren't the reasoning type, they will kill as soon as they catch your scent...in your case your soul as it too pure!"Niall said seriously and I lowered my bow that had an arrow on in. Woah woah now this was what happens if we dont attend Royal Vampire Council meetings, we didnt know what was happening. I didnt know that there was vampire kingdoms that were our enemies. Also what about my soul? Why was it so pure as they all say? What can I do with it? Actually can I do something with it?

"Wait a vampire can smell me? But I don't have blood in me, I'm a vampire Nialler, like you!"I said nervously and he chuckled and pat my shoulder.

"Relax Kat, you're a vampire yes, but a special one! Im here to help you be the vampire you were meant to be!"Niall said and I raised my eyebrow as I didnt understand what he meant.

"Sir Niall James Horan would you please elaborate?"I asked in my posh accent and he laughed hysterically.

"Well first you should know that your Mother is the Mother of all Vampires, she and your father were the first vampires who created all of our kind. You my dear are the first born Vampire from the Mother of all Vampires, your soul is pure , you dont have blood in your system but your aura is very strong, it protects you from any enchantment and that makes you the strongest vampire and our only way to destroy our enemies!"He said and I nodded looking at him as he was telling a story. I didnt know Mother was someone that important, I didnt know she was like kind of a goddess for our vampire race and that made a pure soul being her daughter. So how could I be the one to destroy the enemy?

"How could I a help to destroy our enemies?"I asked him.

"You need to unleash your powers, oet out the strong power in you. Im here to help you"Niall said.

"What kind of power?"I asked him.

"Your aura has all the elements, you need to combine the powers of water, air, fire and earth, that energy is more than enough to destroy whoever is against us. For that first you will have to learn the powers of elements separately before combining them. "Niall instructed and I nodded staying strong.

"Sounds great. Im ready for anything, so what will you teach me today?"I asked him excited and he smiled.

"How about the power of earth now ok? Try to move this rock"Niall said and I smiled confidently walking towards a big rock.

"Like this?"I pushed the rock with my hand and thanks to vampire strength it went dashing the corner with a big force. Niall shook his head for no. Huh?

"No Katherine! You have to move it without touching it!"Niall said and I looked at him as if he was crazy.

"Hey Im not Merlin or something! "I said and he bursted laughing.

"I know I know you re better. Just stay still look at the rock, think only of it, nothing else, free your mind from anything, just focus on the rock. Other than the rock, feel your body, your soul!"Niall said and I did as he told. I looked at the rock with concentration, making sure of thinking about only the rock and nothing else.

"Lift your hand to move it!"Niall said and I raised my hand hoping the rock would move but it wouldnt. Damn please move. Move move move stupid rock.

"Focus Katherine. If you have to control the elements you give respect to the nature only then it will obey you!"Niall said and I groaned in annoyance. Seriously? Give respect and you'll get respect!

I finally managed to concentrate on my surroundings and my golden eyes locked on the rock with an empty like my bestfriend asked me. The big rock started shaking, yes it was working.

"Nice nice concentrate!"Niall encouraged me so I continued and imagined in my head that the rock was moving and I moved my extended arm towards the right and boom the rock was lifted and moved to the right how I wanted.

"Yayyy I did it I did it I did I--oops!"I started jumping out of excitment that I succeeded on my first exercice to acknowledge my powers. But as soon as I lost focus the rock fell harshly on the ground which made Niall and I laugh.

"Good job Katherine but remember to stay focused the whole time. Ready fir your next exercice?"He asked me and I nodded.

"Oh yes! One more way of proving Mother Im strong enough to take care of myself!"I said confidently, ready to learn so much more.

I was so determined to be the Vampire I was born to be.
