Seren
"Are you ready for this?"
I looked at my father. Lena and I had decided to have one big wedding on the beach. When my father asked us why we had made that decision, she had to explain that she wanted the wedding to be special. If we had two weddings, saying the vows twice and having to repeat everything would take away from the special feeling of the ceremony. I had agreed with her and informed him that I had been the one to suggest it. Now, we were at one of the homes that a noble had acquired for his time on land and had a large expanse of beach behind it. I could feel the nerves taking over as I watched more people start to take their seats on the decorated chairs that Lena had insisted on making herself.
The small white chairs were painted with swirls of blues and greens with shells all over. The aisle was covered in white rose petals that Shelby convinced her would look great. She was right, of course. Every chair that lined the aisle was taped with blue and green ribbons and a small group of white roses with blue-green tips were attached. Andrew was on my left and Shelby took her spot on the right where Lena would be soon. Her dress was a small blue sundress that made her look older and made me feel ten times more protective as some of Andrew's friends stared at her legs. My black trousers and light blue dress shirt was pair with black shoes and a black tie. Lena asked me to keep my hair messy like it usually was and much to Shelby's displeasure, I left it.
Lena's mom was in the front row with a seat left open for her husband. My father, Vanus, and Baceolus sat on the other side of the aisle with several of the nobles from all three kingdoms around them. I saw some of Lena's friends and family smiling at me and waving so I gave them a smile and a nod as the music started to play. Lena had refused to use the traditional wedding march her mother had played so I stood straight and nervous as "All of My Heart" by Sleeping With Sirens played. Aiden came down the aisle in his little tux and had a small string around his neck that held our wedding rings. I picked him up and gave him a kiss on his head before giving him to Andrew, who held the toddler's hand as he stood between us. Then Lena and her father stepped into the aisle. When I saw her emerald eyes my breathing stopped.
She wore her long brown hair in waves with small shells and flowers woven in her hair. A small blue jeweled tiara sat on her head with a sea colored veil over her face. I could see her deep red lips curling into a smile as she saw me and I took the moment she looked down at her feet to examine her dress. It was long and hugged her body until it reached her knees and flowed out. The dress was a white that faded out at the bottom to a light teal that was covered in small jewels that contrasted perfectly with her tan skin. The neckline swooped down at a modest level that subtly accentuated her breasts. I took a deep breath as she stopped in front of me, hugging her father, then took my hand as she moved to stand in front of me. I lifted her veil and gently pulled the fabric back out of her face. She had a small amount of black around her eyes and a white eyeshadow with those deep red lips that pulled into a soft smile. I shoved the urge to kiss her away and returned that smile. The Triton kingdom's ceremony official coughed and we looked at him smiling at us.
"We've gathered here today to tie a bond between Seren Dalinan and Anilena Conners. Before we begin, are there any objections?"
We looked at the crowd and we all laughed softly as her mother had to hold her father's hands in her lap as he gave his daughter a proud, watery smile. The official cleared his throat again.
"Seren and Anilena have decided to say personal vows," he informed our friends and family.
I looked at Lena and smiled, caressing her cheek as my eyes started to water. "I love you, Lena. After everything that I've been through in my life; the struggles, losses, pain and miracles, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me." Her eyes filled with tears and I smiled, wiping away a stray tear from her cheek. "I never want to lose you and this feeling that I have with you is something that I never want to end. I need you and our son in my life. I couldn't ask for a better woman to stand by my side."
