Kidnapped at age 15

Chapter 9

Alex's pov

I've been through this before, twice actually. You run off into the woods and as you get further, the chaser gets closer and then all of a sudden, your smack face onto the ground. Why did I run off into the woods once again? I don't know.. It feels like the only choice you have when you run away. 

My breathing started to get heavier so I did something I would never do, I stopped. I looked to my left and saw a giant tree and then looked forward again and saw Britt and Max zig-zagging around bushes. I turned and went for the tree. I grabbed onto the first branch I could Reach and pulled myself up onto it. I stood up as fast I could and climbed the next one and I continued to climb until I couldn't reach anymore Branches and by the time I stopped, Lizzie was already standing underneath the tree i was in. I hugged the tree the best I could so I wouldn't be noticed up here. 

"These fucking kids I swear! All they do is run" I heard Lizzie yell to someone. 

"Well maybe we should just split up, they all went the same way and there's another connecting road about 2 miles down.. I bet they will keep running down that to try and catch a car that comes down" A different voice I have never heard before replied. 

"How is there another road back there? The only house around here is 8 miles out the other way" Lizzie said. 

I leaned over to see where Lizzie was pointing and sighed when both of them walked away towards the car. I know I should have gone with Britt but I think I might be able to help more if I wasn't taken. 

I waited for 5 more minutes to get down from the tree and I took off in the direction that the house was in. 

Britts pov

I kept running and running not caring who was behind me. Max was running right in front of me and i just followed him. Soon enough we saw a tiny little wooden house. 

"Do you think we should go in there?" I asked max looking at suspiciously. 

"Its all we got-" Max looked around fragrantly. "Where the hell is Alex?!" He asked screaming at me. 

"I thought she was behind me!" I said running my hands through my hair. "FUCK!" I yelled as loud as i could. 

"They probably got her!" Max said looking me angrily. 

"Why are you looking at me like this is all my fault? I swore she was behind me! I'm sorry i never looked behind me every single second to make sure she was!" 

"Well maybe you should have!" 

"OH, like you have room to talk! I never saw you once turn around!" 

Max shook his head and started walking up to the house. I stomped my way up to the house as well, walking in slowly. It looked like someone trashed the house 100 years ago. There was trash, mud, dirt, plants growing inside. The furniture in the living room was turned upside down but most of them were broken. I looked over and saw a fireplace with broken bricks surrounding it on the floor. 

"This place is a dump" Max said looking around with a disgusted face. 

"Well what do you expect from it?" I said putting my hands on my hips. 

Max shook his head and went over to the fireplace and looked at the wood. He sighed and stood up getting the dust off his pants. 

"I'll be back.. I'm going to go look for wood. Its getting dark and cold we need the fire" 

I nodded my head and watched him walk out the house. I sighed rubbing my arms from the cold. I walked around the house again and saw a staircase. I didn't really trust the support of the stairs but i walked up them anyway. Every step I took there was a loud creak in the stairs. When I got to the top there was three rooms, I went towards the room that went up another level. It looked like a little girls room. There was painted bunnies all over the walls that looked like they were once white but are now yellow and chipped. There was a little bed with no blankets on it. 

"Brittney!" I heard max yell. 

"I'm coming" I said walking out of the room and back down stairs. 

When I got to the bottom of the stairs I saw light glowing, Max got the fireplace up. 

"Good! Its so cold now!" I said running over to the fireplace and sitting down in front of it. Max took a spot next to me putting his hands out in front of the fire. 

About 10 minutes of silence I thought of a question  could ask Max without Alex here and to break the silence that I hated. 

"Do you really have feelings for Alex?" 

Max stared at the fire for a bit before answering. 

"I didn't think I did at first but then I kissed her and I felt like it was true.. She hated it I knew she did but I do feel something now and it hurts me right now to know that shes will Lizzie right now probably being beaten to death.." Max replied. 

"It hurts me to.." I said looking down. 

"Do you think I should try with her?" Max asked. 

I looked up and saw him staring at me waiting for an answer. 

"What do you mean buy try?" 

"Ask her to go on a date or something in that area" 

"You know she likes Ryan"

"I know..."

"But I know something about him that Alex doesn't" Max looked over at me and gave me a confused look. "He has a girlfriend.. and he has for about a year now" 

"How the hell did you find that out?" Max asked.

"Well that night when you told everyone about your feelings for Alex, I heard him talking on the phone with her.." 

"Does Tyler know?" Max asked. 

"I'm not sure" 

Max nodded his head smiling. I laughed knowing what he was thinking about. I leaned back laying on my back staring up at the blank ceiling. I really hope Alex is okay... I hope Jacob is okay. 

Alex's pov

It started getting darker out the further I got. I stopped running awhile back ago when I tripped over a tree branch and tumbled down a hill. I got pretty banged up from it. I started to slow down even slower than I was before. 

A wave of fatigue hit me and I fell down into the hard cold ground. I backed up so my back was against a tree. I titled my head back so it rested against the tree as well. I was fighting to keep my eyes open but my tiredness won and I drifted off into the darkness with the moon light shinning right on me. 

I wish my life would just end already.. I'm tired of running.
