(Part 7)

The next day...

I'm stepping a little bit out of my comfort zone for today. No more shy Mackenzie. No more scared Mackenzie. I'm a whole new person starting today.

Today is the day I meet Niall. I want to make a good impression. Because what's a new friendship without a good impression? So that's why I'm finally getting rid of my past feelings. Obviously I can't change just like that. I'm gonna try my very hardest though.

I went over to my closet and threw on a plain black t-shirt with grey ripped skinny jeans. I brushed my hair and teeth and looked at the wall clock to check the time.

1:45 pm.

"Harry! Is Liam here yet?" I shout from my room.

He walks in.

"Yup. He just knocked on the door. He's driving us to the park to meet Niall," he says while he runs his brush through his hair.

I nod.

He closes the door behind him.

I'm debating on whether to bring my journal or not. I mean it's a fresh new start today. Maybe I'll just write in it when I get back. There should be some new stuff to write about anyway. Hopefully good stuff.

I open my door and walk out. Leaving my journal behind, lying on the bed.

I smile at Harry as we walk outside to Liam's car. He smiles back.

"Are you excited," Liam asks as I get into the back seat.

"Yes," I say with a warm smile.

"Mackenzie you seem...different. But I like it."

"Just being who I am on the inside."

That was a total lie. I was broken and sad on the inside. But that's going to change. Starting today as I create a new friendship with Niall.

(Harry's POV)

"There it is," I whisper.

I was looking for my hair brush. Yes I have to use a brush. I have long hair. You're probably thinking, what the hell? But I like it. It suits me well and people seem to like it so do I.

I grabbed my brush and made my way to Mackenzie's bedroom. Liam knocked on the door about 3 minutes ago. We're all going to the park to meet Niall.

"Hey is Liam here!" She shouts.

I opened up her door and walked in.

"Yup. He just knocked on the door. He's driving us to the park to meet Niall.

I ran my brush through my hair one last time as Mackenzie nods.

I walked out of her room as I closed the door. I'm happy she's making a new friend. Something's just telling me Niall isn't the one to be that friend though.

I love Niall he's like a little brother to me. But I don't know. It's just that Niall tends to say the wrong things a lot and I just don't want that to effect Mackenzie. I know he wont mean anything harsh he says. Unless it's towards me or Liam if we're joking around with him. That I'm fine with. But Mackenzie, no. I'm definitely not fine with that.

Knowing Mackenzie, she's pretty sensitive and I just don't want her hurting over what Niall says. Even though he may not even realize what comes out of his mouth half the time. And most of the time he apologizes right after he does it but I don't know if she'll believe him. Hopefully he doesn't slip up.

(Mackenzie's POV)

We got to the park after ten minutes of driving. So not that long at all. That's because we live right near Midnight Falls Park. I love that place. It's the same park we were at yesterday.

This was the last place where my whole family, my mum, my dad, Harry and I went before they died.

It makes me happy knowing the memory of them lives on. This was the last place I seen them. The last place we were with them last. But it makes me sad since it was actually the last place.

But memories are memories. They're sad and happy. They can fix you and break you as well.

We all sat down at the same table as we did yesterday.

"Niall texted. He's walking here right now. He should be here in about five," Liam says.

"Great," I say.

But now that I was think of my parents, it makes me sad knowing they're not here. I miss them so much. But you know what? They're always in my heart.

I focus myself back inti reality. Don't want to have Harry wave his hands in my face to snap me out of my thoughts again.

"So many memories in this park eh Hazza?" I say breaking the silence.

Hazza was my nickname for Harry since I was little. I haven't called him that since my mum and dad died. I guess it's just a good time to bring back the good memories yeah?

"There sure is Kenz. Wait, did you just call me Hazza? I haven't heard that since-

"Yeah I know. Just trying to bring back memories. There are so many. So many."

He nods.

"I remember when you were seven and you and I broke one of the swings from throwing the pebbles at the rusted chain. I thought mum and dad were going to kill us." He laughed.

I joined him.

"Or that time when I was 11 and we flew a kite and it flew away since it broke of the string. I cried for an hour straight," I laugh once more.

"I was there for that too!" Liam says.

We all laugh.

"Liam, remember that time we snuck up to the treehouse and scared Mackenzie?" Harry asks, still laughing.

"That wasn't funny! I thought you were killers coming after me!" I laugh uncontrollably.

Those were the days man. I wish we still had it like that. When everything was not good, but great. Perfect if I may.

"Niall is here." Liam says breaking our laughing session.

All of a sudden I see a short blonde boy walk over to us.

It can't be.

"Mackenzie Styles?" He says in shock.

"Niall Payne?"

Oooh! What do you think what's going on between Niall and Mackenzie?
