~Lacey~

It was barely 9 a.m. on a Saturday. I shouldn't be bored, but I am. Once again, everyone had forgotten my existence. My family was scattered all over, I wasn't even sure where half of them were actually. I was laying on my bed, wrapped in Blaze's leather jacket, I had tried to give it back to him but he had insisted I keep it and that it looked better on me than him. As it always did whenever I was bored, my mind drifted to him.

It's been nearly three weeks since he picked me up that first day and he's picked me up for school every day since then. Just another example of how invisible I was. No one has questioned how I am getting to and from school since I no longer catch rides with my brothers. We've spent a couple hours every day after school together, Mr. Laughlin wasn't kidding about the work load. I had checked Wes' chemistry binder, just out of curiosity since he had opted for the regular chem class, and we were ahead of them in the lessons. There was also a lot of practical and hands on stuff. Any questions we had to answer from the chapters had to be answered by both of us on the same sheet of paper. Blaze and I had even spent one Saturday together, going around to different stores to find common household objects from the periodic table and taking pictures of them. We were supposed to do things from around our houses but I'm not ready to expose him to my unusual family yet and we couldn't go to his place either. It was the best Saturday I had spent in a while.

We had spent so much time together in last few weeks that the crush I thought I was developing had turned into a full blown infatuation. For the first time in my life, I was moony over a boy. Sure, Blaze could be kind of growly sometimes but he was always sweet to me, or quick to apologize for being growly. There was more to him than just the way he dressed, the way he looked and I was glad I had ignored my brothers' warnings about him. My only complaint was the smoking. I hated the smoking! I wanted to ask him to stop but I was worried about overstepping my bounds and losing him as a friend.

"Bad to the Bone" roared out of my cell phone and I smiled, snatching it off the nightstand quickly. That was the ringtone I had put on for Blaze, just for fun.

Blaze: Hey Doll, whatcha up to?

Just the sight of his text had me smiling. At least he was thinking about me.

Lacey: Not much, everyone forgot about me again, big shocker.

Blaze: Wanna come over? My parentals are gone for the weekend.

I had to grin at his unintentional innuendo.

Lacey: Blaze, are you propositioning me?

Blaze: WHAT? NO! OMG! I'm sorry Lacey! I didn't mean it like that!

Damn. I thought for sure he'd know I was teasing! I laughed though since the moment was just hilarious.

Lacey: Blaze! Stop! I was teasing! lol!

Blaze: Shit Doll, you keep trying to take years off my life, don't you? Seriously though all my sibs are here so no chance of anything happening if you are worried.

Lacey: I'm not worried. I trust you. I would love to spend time with you.

Blaze: I'll be there in 15. See you soon.

I wanted to tell him I would be waiting with bated breath or that I lived for the moment or something equally sappy and ridiculous but I refrained, barely. Wait. Had he said 15 minutes? Oh crap, I needed to change! I shot off the bed and stripped out of the little tank and tiny shorts I slept in and threw on a pair of jeans and a plain, black shirt really fast.

Fifteen minutes later I was waiting when he pulled the Harley alongside me. I was seriously growing to love the bike. Riding on it was like flying, it felt very freeing. I really wanted to learn to drive it but I was chickenshit and hadn't worked up the nerve to ask. Blaze pulled off his helmet and shook his head so his dark hair fell over his forehead.
