Dan's POV

"You have to tell her sometime."

I sighed, "I know. But, man, I don't know how to tell her. I haven't exactly been 'in the game' for a while, y'know?" Ross nods as he sips his coffee.

I had work to do this morning so I brought (Y/N) along with, since I knew she wouldn't mind. I'd be with her right now, but Arin wanted to play a rage game with her to see who could stay calm the longest since they both have quite a temper.

"SON OF A FUCK!!!" I hear screaming coming from the game room. It sounds Arin. Guess he lost. I calmly walk over and open the door slowly to see a controller on the ground and Arin rampaging through the room with papers flying everywhere. "You okay, buddy?" I question softly as I give him a cheerful smile. "MARIO WOULDN'T FUCKING JUMP!! I WAS PRESSING THE DAMN A BUTTON AND HE WOULDN'T DO WHAT I FUCKING TOLD HIM TO DO!! WHAT KIND OF FUCKING BULLSHIT IS THIS!!" Taking a look at the screen, I could see it was Mario 64. Of course. "How are you taking this?" (Y/N) giggles and I can see that she's also very angry, but much more calm than Arin who was sitting on the floor in a ball. It's Mario Sunshine all over again. She's stretching her hand over and over. Now I know why she's so calm.

I decide to sit and watch them play after Arin had calmed down a bit. Watching him get mad always makes me laugh, but I had never seen (Y/N) raging at a game. I wonder if it'll be as funny. She gets to a clock level and Mario falls right off the platform, dying. "Oh come the fuck on. Well, your turn." She hands Arin the controller and he jumps back into the level. "How are you so calm at this?" Arin asks. She shrugs, "I never really rage at this game. It's Mario Kart that I rage at. Some of my friends won't even play it with me because of how angry I get." A smirk spread across Arin's face all Grinch-like. He turned the game off and put in the Mario Kart 64 cartridge. Flicking the 'START' switch, the Nintendo logo spun around as the zooming of a car was heard. "Welcome to Mario Kart!" Mario said. "Dan, you better run now before you see a part of me that only comes out during this." (Y/N) warned. "Nah, if I can stay and watch Arin play Mario Sunshine and be fine, then you can rage all you want." She shrugs as they pick their characters.

They start the first cup with Arin as Peach and (Y/N) as Yoshi. So we have the same character preference, eh? She immediately starts to dominate as she takes first place right off the bat. She hits and item block and gets a green shell. "Ha! You got the most useless of shells!" Arin taunts. "That's what you think..." I hear her mumble. Arin starts to gain on her to the point where he's right behind her. Suddenly, she takes out her shell and it hits Arin directly. "What the hell!" he shouts. (Y/N) wins the race and Arin pouts.

The next race starts out like the last with (Y/N) in the lead and Arin right behind her. He gets a banana and throws it in front of (Y/N), which she then starts to slip on it until a little music note pops up and she's fine. "How did you..?" Arin asks, baffled. She seems to know a lot about this game. Almost like she's an expert. Hell, she's most likely better than me. If she can kick Arin's ass, she can easily kick mine.

After a while of (Y/N) completely owning Arin, they finally come to Rainbow Road. While they're on the simple and colorful track, Toad randomly comes up and hits (Y/N) with a red shell. "What the hell!" she shouts. One unlucky event after another, (Y/N)'s shouts become screams. "WHAT THE FUCK!! I HIT YOU YOU DIAPER WEARING FUCKER!!" Even Arin was surprised at how angry she could get. We knew to stop when she threw her phone on the ground so hard that the case came right off. So we turned the game off and I told (Y/N) that it was time to go home. Barry had to stay and edit, plus he drove himself.

We strapped in and drove off, not listening to music, but in silence. Then, (Y/N) broke the silence, "Hey, sorry you had to see that." She apologizing? She wasn't that bad. "It's fine. I see Arin rage all the time. He's the reason we never played Battle Kid again." She chuckles at my remark and spaces out the window. Ross' words echo through my head,'You need to tell her sometime.'  Shut up, memory Ross. I'll tell her when we get home.

We walked in as usual, (Y/N) slipped off her hoodie and put it on the coat rack. Before she could make her way upstairs, I put my hand on her shoulder to stop her. "Wait." She turned around and stared at me with her gorgeous (E/C) eyes. "(Y/N), I've known you for a while now and I feel like this is a good time to tell you this." I start. "But, I've been starting to develop... feelings... towards you. To the point where my mind goes to shit." I can see her face start to turn red and I can feel mine start to heat up. "And basically, it's this." I lean in and kiss her on the lips. No tongue or anything. Before she can react, I let go. She stares at me for a minute. Her face a bright shade of tomato and a look of shock in her eyes. I start to get a little nervous about what if she just wants to be friends. Then, I get my answer when she starts to kiss me right back. I'll take that as a yes.
