Normal Routine

"Jody baby get up" Yvette said after trying to wake him up for the past 10 minutes. "We gotta take JoJo to school and I have to go to work" although a lot has changed something's haven't it was always a pain trying to wake Jody up in the mornings. "baby let me sleep" pop "ouch damn baby why you do that" Jody said after Yvette popped him on his arm to get him up. "Jody stop playing come on we gotta go JoJo can't beats for school" After another 10 minutes we were out the door. "JoJo baby you got all your school work and stuff for basketball later?" "Yes mama" JoJo had just turned 5 and he finally could start playing basketball, he loved it mainly because Jody taught him and he loved playing with his daddy. We just pulled up to the school to drop him off for the day. "Bye baby have a good day mommy loves you" " love you too mommy" JoJo gave her a hug and then gave his dad a high five "see you later little man" "bye dad". After dropping JoJo off we headed to my job. Once we got there "Jody don't be late and don't forget to get JoJo for practice" "baby you know I never forget" he gave Yvette a wink and they kissed and said their goodbyes. Jody headed over to the beauty shop to sell some dresses (yes he was still selling clothes from the back of his trunk) "Damn I'll be happy when I don't have to do this anymore I mean it's good money but I'm trying to be legit here". Next thing you know it's time to go get JoJo and take him to practice, I pulled up to his school and he ran out to me, already dressed in his basketball clothes. "What's up man you have a good day at school" I asked him "yes but Jason and Tony got into a fight over the Legos during recess" "who won?" I asked while laughing "Tony did only because he was bigger though". We pulled up to the gym and JoJo ran inside to meet with the team. I sat and watched practice "my boy was getting good, I see he's gonna have a killer jump shot. Once practice was over we headed over to my moms house "daddy why we going to grandma's" "cuz you gonna stay over there tonight because I got a surprise for mommy" " I want a surprise too" " Well if you good for grandma we might get you one" when we got to mom's house we got out and JoJo ran to the back cuz he knew she was gonna be in that garden of hers. "Grandma Grandma" he yelled "Hey grandma's boy how are you" "good" he said "how was school today? did you get any homework" "only a little, I just have to draw my letters" Jody came around the corner " what's good mom" as he gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek. "You know just working on my garden, how's Yvette and my future grand baby" "they good I'm about to go get them in a few, where Melvin at?" " He's at work, he should be headed back here in a little bit. So you got something nice planed for tonight?" With a big smile I answered "Yes I do, you know I'm trying to be good for my girl and I got to show her that I care about her you know". Moms just looked at me and smiled "Jody I'm proud of you finally stepping up and being a man I want you to keep it up". "That's what I know momma, I'll see you later thanks for keeping JoJo for me". "Anytime baby love you". Once I left moms house I headed to the store to get a few things for tonight dropped them off at home set everything up and went to pick up Yvette, I couldn't wait for her to see what I had planned.
