-Doctor-

The watch remains silent once again as I stare at it smugly.

"Go on, then. Tell me who she is."

It's quiet until I set my finger on the latch.

A sister of many. And now of only the one.

"Well, that doesn't tell me much. Who is she?"

A sister of one.

"But who?"

Silence. No answer. I sigh and put it back in my pocket.

Sister. She's someone's sister. 'Sister of many'. But also a 'sister of one'.

Being a Time Lord means you have lots of siblings, so that doesn't tell me anything.

I'll just have to ask her when she's a Time Lord again. I hope it's soon, though, because she's beginning to get on my nerves as a human.

-Bethany-

"Earth sounds like a wonderful and beautiful place. If only I could see it." Edrik seems like he's saddened by the fact he can't go.

He eventually told me his name after I realized I didn't know it and had to awkwardly ask.

I smile at him. "Maybe you can. I would love to take you. It's just that I'm not sure the Do-...my dad would let me use the Tar-...our ship."

Goodness. I'm beginning to trust him a lot. I...suppose I could be open with him, but...I don't think the Doc would like that...

He doesn't seem to notice my slip-ups in my speech and brightens up at the thought of being able to travel to Earth. "Your father may not allow you to use your ship. But what he doesn't know is that I have one of my own."

I can get home? And Edrik will take me? I didn't think I could be so happy, or that I had started missing Earth so much in just a few days. How am I already so homesick?

"Really?" My voice doesn't hide my excitement at all. "That would be so awesome! You would really do that? Just to see my home?"

He smiles and pushes a strand of hair from my face, gazing seriously into my eyes. "If it means so much to you and it's the place that housed and cared for you until you came to meet me, then yes. I want to see it."

My heart starts beating so hard I think it's going to explode and my legs get slightly wobbly. He's so...perfect...I could never ask for more in a man than caring, openness, and modesty. His good looks are a nice little bonus, too. Well. A big bonus, really.

"Then, that sounds like a wonderful idea." I manage to squeeze out the words through my tongue-tiedness. "Thank you, Edrik."

"You are very welcome, my dear. Though, I may be the one thanking you if your Earth is as beautiful as you describe it to be."

I smile. "Don't worry. It is."

"Shall we, then?" He returns the smile and gently leads me, his hand at my waist, towards the door.
