Sara slowly pushed through the snow bank, feeling all her strength failing her. Though she hadn’t had much to begin with any that she had left was slowly fading. The snow was stuck in between her paw pads, making it painful to walk. She hadn’t eaten in a week and her wolf had stopped speaking to conserve energy.

But the fear of being out in the open pushed Sara on. She had run from her pack three weeks ago and from what passing rouges had said they were hunting her. So she did the one thing she could think of. Run.

They still hadn’t come in her direction and Sara had no idea why but as long as she was safe she was happy. Even if she died she was free and that was all the young wolf wanted.

Sniffing the air Sara froze. There were wolves near by, not normal wolves but werewolves. She quickly spotted a small cave not far from her and tried to make it there before they could catch her. Being a rouge, and female at that, was the worst thing ever.

She could be taken in and forced to mate with a male of the alpha’s choice or be killed. Male rouges were just killed. A howl sounded closer and suddenly she wasn’t heading to the cave any more. Sara was running away again.

The pack was running a good thirty feet behind her but she knew in her weak state she wouldn’t be able to keep away from them for long. A small cliff with a narrow path appeared and Sara quickly scrambled up it, dislodging a heavy rock as she went. Yelps and snarls were heard from below but she refused to look over the edge.

“You are trespassing on the Blood Moon pack territory.” Someone growled. “You have ten minutes to get off that ledge and submit to me before I force you down here.” Shaking slightly she dared a quick glance down to see a dark red wolf with black leggings standing in the middle of the ring around her.

A few snarls were heard so she scooted back more. What were they going to do to her? Would they hurt her like her old pack or would they kill her? Sara hadn’t heard of the Blood Moon pack before but if they were as bad as their name sounded then she didn’t want to be anywhere near them.

“Five minutes!” looking to see the pack starting to close in she made a decision. She stood on shaky legs, taking a deep breath before running to the edge and leaping. Sara crashed painfully into the ground, feeling her front forelegs bruise with the impact. But she didn’t have much time o think on it as she was up and running from the pack again. This time they were closer, almost on her tail.

Suddenly they were herding her, forcing her to go where they wanted. Sara stretched out her legs and decided it was best if she just found a hole or something so she had a safe place to stay until the coast was clear to run again.

But the only thing she could find was a hollow at the base of a tree. Taking it for what it was forth she dashed to it. The pack instantly surround Sara, growling and snapping at her. Huddling against the back of the tree she watched as the alpha stalked towards her, his large shoulders rolling under thick fur.

“You are trespassing on my lands, did you know this?” he growls softly. Shaking her head Sara continued to push her body back against the trunk. “Tom, get over here now.”

A tall sandy colored wolf trots up, his tongue lolling out of his mouth, “Yes alpha?”

“Scent her, she reeks of fear.” The sandy wolf took a step towards her, causing her to whimper.

“She looks worse than Betty did when she came to us.” He barked softly, “Hey now, we’re not going to hurt you, just relax.”

“Get the pack doctor here so he can sedate her,” the alpha growled to the nearest wolf, a silver gray she-wolf. When he turned back to her his blue eyes softened, “I’m going to shift alright?”

Sara shivered when the power gathered around the alpha until he was fully clothed and in his human form. She hated it when a wolf did that. The power always unsettled her. His dark blue eyes stayed on her form as the other wolf stood off to the side and shifted too. “My name is Justin, this is my beta Tom. What pack do you hale from little one?”

Too scared to speak Sara simply stayed flat against the tree trunk, shaking and whining. They would hurt her just like her pack did! Suddenly her wolf was waking up as he reached out to touch her. The chocolate brown and white wolf latched her jaw onto his wrist and bit down, snarling all the while.

“Easy girl.” The beta soothed, reaching out to try and extract his alpha’s wrist form her grasp. Sara quickly recoiled, baring her bloody teeth at them. “She doesn’t like me or betas.” Tom commented, running a hand through his sandy colored hair.

“Something we will learn about later.” Justin murmured, licking his wound. “Ah, Joe. You made it. This is her.” a man in his late forties appeared before her. His face wrinkled in worry before he dug through the black bag he had.

“I need you guys to hold her down so I can safely sedate her.” suddenly the alpha and beta were grabbing her and holding her body down. Memories she had tried to keep under lock and key surfaced and Sara thrashed against their hold. A sharp prick was felt on her neck as the man named Joe inserted the needle.

Whining loudly she tried to bite Justin but sound her whole body becoming heavy. “This will take effect faster because of the condition she is in. if I had to guess right she probably hasn’t eaten in over a week by now.” A warm hand rubbed over her shoulder gently, “She is weaker than most. These scars…I’ll speak with you about it later.”

Sara tried to fight it, she truly did but the feeling of being safe seemed to envelop her as the alpha picked her up and started walking, “Your safe now little one. Go to sleep.”
