Justin growled as he paced the living room. Why was she so scared of him? Had someone hurt her? Had someone touched her? Feeling his wolf stir with anger he quickly placed the cap back on his emotions.
Getting angry wouldn’t help any. “Justin…” looking up the stairs at Betty he cocked his head, waiting, “She ate as much as she could handle before passing out. She doesn’t seem to be so scared of me as she was of you but it the fear is still there.” Following his beta’s mate into the kitchen he questioned her.
“Did she tell you anything?”
“Justin she doesn’t have to tell me anything.” Those ivy green orbs stared into his stone blue ones, “She was abused severely, maybe even raped. She is worse off than me or your mother ever was. So scared I think it may take a while before she even lets you touch her without flinching.”
Stepping back until he hit the wall, Justin growled into his hands, “What am I to do? My wolf wants to mark her, not just sit by as she looks upon us in fear and trembles when we near. What can I do, Betty?”
“My advice? Take your time, explain everything to her and let her recover from the shock everyone put her in when you caught her. She will run and she will hide but let her. Just don’t let her go out those doors without someone near her or she will run and never look back.”

Quietly entering his bedroom he looked over at his nameless mate. She slept soundly, not even stirring when he turned on the shower. Mentally filling the fact that she would have to have a bath soon he quickly scrubbed the days grime away before drying off and slipping into a pair of silk bottoms.
Glaring at the bight red letters of his alarm clock Justin tried to grab some sleep so he could wake up before it woke him up.
-0000000000000000000000000-000-
A loud blaring noise slammed Sara awake. She scrambled to find out where the noise was coming from so she could get away from it. Justin leaped up off the couch and snatched a small alarm clock off the bedside table, leaving her to watch as he tried to turn it off quickly.
When the noise stopped he let out a huge sigh and stumbled over to the bathroom. Still on edge Sara curled up at the headboard again with the pillows cushioning her back. When he came back with wet hair and started rummaging through the closet she dared to get up and slip into the bathroom before he could turn his head.
She didn’t want to make him angry, an angry male was never a good sign for her. Running the hot water from the sink into her hands she grabbed a washcloth and began the process of cleaning her wounds.
To Sara’s surprise there was nothing to rally clean. In all her years with her old pack her werewolf healing hadn’t helped her. She had healed slowly like a human. “Little one? Are you okay?” Justin’s deep voice called softly through the door.
Was she okay? Truthfully she wasn’t sure if she was a prisoner with the pack or not. They fed her, healed her wounds and even gave her a comfy bed to lye on but she couldn’t shake the feeling of unease.
Turning the facet off she sat down on the toilet lid to think. “If you wan to take a bath I’ll have Betty bring you some clothes. Can you tap on the door one for yes twice for no?” not seeing any harm in that request, Sara knocked softly on the white painted wood. “Alright, Betty will be up here in a few minutes.”
Sighing in relief when she heard his footsteps fading Sara took off the over sized shirt she had been wearing along with the basketball shorts and lime green panties. The water was warm when she stepped under the jetting stream, soothing her tense muscles and washing days of grime away.
“Little one? It’s Betty again. I’ve got the clothes and your breakfast and there is someone I want you to meet. Her name is Mary.” Smiling when she heard Betty through the door Sara quickly scrubbed down, being careful of the still sensitive parts, and grabbed a towel.
Sitting on the couch was Betty with another woman. The woman had waist length brown hair with pretty doe brown eyes. Her figure wasn’t thin like most women in Sara’s old pack but rounded like Betty was. “Here she is. This is Mary, Justin’s mother.”
“H-hello.” If this was Justin’s mother then she was the current Luna. Before the younger wolf could bow a hand was raised.
“Don’t bow to me, little one. I am no longer Luna of this pack.” Justin had a mate! So why did Betty claim that she was his mate? “It is I who should be bowing to you.”
“N-no! I-I’m not the Luna!” Sara stuttered, feeling the panic rise in her chest.
“But you are Justin’s soul mate, by law you are the new Luna.” Mary cocked her head slightly. “Tell me little wolf, why are you not the Luna?”
“Because I-I don’t have a m-mate”
