Sara carefully crept out of the green room. It had been two days since Justin had returned her back to his home and so far he had been watching her like a hawk. At the moment he was sleeping on the leather couch in the bedroom.
Slipping down the stairs she barely made it to the kitchen when he grabbed her. Sara screamed in fear, struggling against his hold. She felt him flinch but Justin didn’t loosen his hold until she stopped screaming. She slammed herself up against the farthest wall, watching him with wide, tearful eyes.
“You need to stop sneaking around.” He murmured, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, “You aren’t going to be punished for anything.” When she didn’t answer he sat down in the doorway and watched her intently, “Until you start talking to me I won’t let you leave this room.
W-what? He can’t do that! Her wolf growled.
Apparently he can. She responded. Sara tried to make it past him but if she got too close he would try to grab her and make her sit on his lap. Squealing lightly when he finally got her to sit on his lap she could feel her body tremble slightly.
“Shush little one. I am not hurting you and you are safe.” Muttering something she huffed lightly. Why did he want to touch her constantly? It freaked her out most of the time and no matter what she did to get away from him he was always after her.
“L-let me go, p-please!” Sara begged. Justin sighed and released her back into the kitchen.
“You need to start talking to me, Angel. If something is bothering you then speak up.” With that he rose and left.
Go after him! Whisper growled.
B-but what would I say? He scares me! She argued.
Then tell him that! It’s a start and I don’t like to be far from our mate! With a small whine she followed his scent to an open door office. He didn’t look at her when she stood by the entrance. Tell him! Tell him now!
“Your scent reeks of fear.” Justin murmured, startling her. “You don’t have to stay near me at the moment if you don’t want to. I know I crossed the line back there, I will try not to cross it again.”
Now. “I-I’m sorry.” Sara whispered. His head snapped around, eyes wide. “I-I find it v-very difficult t-to speak to men. Not m-many are nice t-to me.”
She hadn’t realized he had been walking towards her until the tops of his shiny black shoes were staring her in the face. “Look at me, Angel.” His stone blue eyes were gentle, “I love the fact that you told me this. I don’t like it when you keep secrets from me, it kills me to know that you have been hurt and that you won’t let me do anything to help you.”
Justin enveloped her in his arms, causing her to stiffen until Whisper growled at her to relax. “I’ll wait for you. I’ll wait until your ready to become my mate before I do anything. On my honor as Alpha I swear it.” tears came to her eyes and she buried her face into his chest.
Why did she feel this way? The feeling of his arms around her sent light pleasant tingles down her back while hearing his soft even breathing soothed her frayed nerves. He wasn’t her mate; she didn’t have one!
“Why don’t you go get something to eat and watch a bit of T.V?” Nodding and feeling a blush creep across her face she darted from the room.
-00000000000000000000-
Justin chuckled as his mate darted form the room. He was making progress. She had been slightly skittish when they had returned two days ago but that was due to the fact that he didn’t want to let her out of his sight.
And he still didn’t want to, but she needed space if she was to recover. Looking out the window again to see Tom and Betty playing with their six-year-old son made his heart clench. What if that never became a reality for him? What if Sara was too emotionally scared to have pups?
He shook his head. No. She would be a great mother to his pups. Ignoring the pile of papers on his desk he walked out of the office to see his angel standing by the door with a plate of food, her head turned down.
“F-for you.” Looking down to see an almost fully rare steak with mash potatoes.
Justin grinned and leaned in to peck the top of her head, “Thank you, Angel. Let’s go into the living room.” A bight red blush could barely be seen but it made his grin widen. Once she had a small plate in hand they sat on the long couch, silently eating and watching the T.V.
“So,” He started, cutting a slice of steak off, “You ready to tell me the name of your pack or the name of your father?” He didn’t want to spook her but he needed to know which pack had hurt her so he could make a report to the NCOS.
Sara stopped eating, placing her plate on the table before grabbing a pillow and her mug of hot chocolate. Suddenly he was sure he didn’t want to know so he didn’t kill them himself. “I-I don’t want you to get hurt.” She whispered, picking lightly at the small fringe on the pillow seams.
“Angel, I am strong. One of the strongest next to the Wer King; Cale MacTyre. I will not be hurt.”
“I-If you’re sure…the alpha’s name is Kail Hathen. H-his great grandfather found the p-pack years ago, long before I was born.” Justin stiffened at the name. He knew Kail Hathen, used to be best friends until they became alpha’s of their own packs and then Kail became cold.
He found his mate and started rubbing it into Justin’s face and it was only ten years ago that Mark had declared war on the Black Winter pack. “You are more than safe from them here, Angel. My pack and Kail’s have been at war for ten years now. I’ll be back soon.”
Standing and heading to the kitchen he dumped the dirty dishes into the sink before getting back into his office and calling the NCOS.

NCOS - National Council Of Shifters
NCOS - The NCOS have a specail job. They come to the aid of any shifter in trouble. Ranging from rival pack wars to abuse of a fellow shifter. When a case is made the NCOS will act instantly, coming to question the pack or victim. If a person is found guilty they are taken before the council and given two choices.
One: Death by Fight.
Two: Death by Sun. (Where the person will be given a days worth of food and water before being tied up in the heat of the sun and left to die a slow and painful death.)
One way or another the guilty party will die.
