The Party

The next morning finally rolled around. I did my usual morning routine. Get up, walk to the bathroom, wash my face, brush my teeth, and walk out of the bathroom. Nothing was out of the ordinary.

I put on dark jeans and a red shirt with a matching flannel. I fix my golden blond hair, that seems to shine in the small amount of sunlight that enters my room through my window.

I grad my bag and walk out my bedroom door. I entered the kitchen to grab a banana and began to walk outside so I can drive to school but a strong hand grabs me.

I turned around to see the old wise eyes for my father looking in my soul. Now my father was my height, so we could look each other straight in the eyes. People say I was a spitting image of my father but I wasn't going to be anything like him. The only thing we will have in common is our looks.

"Son... We need to talk after school..." My father said with a tired voice. His eyes were full of worry and begging for tears to spill. "Okay dad." I said with surprise in my voice. My father usually doesn't care what goes on with my life.

The only "talk" we had was the birds and the bees talk. That didn't even go well. My father isn't good with emotional situations. Probably one of the reasons he had an affair on my mom. He couldn't deal with the emotions of a family. So he needed a girlfriend. Guess he forgot that he had a son who pays attention to every little detail.

My dad looked me deeply in the eyes. He nodded his head and walked away. I walked out the door feeling confused. I walked up to my car and slid into to driver stop. Why did he want to talk to me? Oh god I hope he didn't find out I was gay.

I grip the steering wheel and drove to school. I breathe in and out, trying to make myself relax. No he couldn't have. I know I have been acting weird but didn't think I gave away any signs. I try to think but nothing comes to mind.

I park and see Amy. I didn't need to deal with her this morning. Before she got a chance to get in my car I got out. She smiles at me and gives me a kiss. " Hows my babe doing?" She asked with a heart warming smile.

I gave her my famous line. It works every time. " Alright. You?" I said pretty flat. She nodded and smiled and gave me a hug and whispered in my ear. "Just one more day until James's party. I can't wait." Then she walked away with a wink. Once she turned around I rolled my eyes.

I walked to my locker and grabbed my books for math. Then there was a tap on my shoulder. I turned around ans felt the butterflies fly around. I saw Ralph in front of my very eyes.

"Do you have a pen I could borrow? I'll give it back at history." I couldn't help but stare at him. His eyes were a deep green and full of fear. I hated that he had to fear me. His red hair was over his one eye. Like that bowl look. Whatever, it looked really good on him.

I nodded my head and handed him a black pen. He smiled and million dollar smile, thanked me and walked away. My heart was racing and I couldn't breath. I walked to class and thought my heart was going to explode.

This is how I knew I was gay. That way Ralph made me feel when I was around him. I never felt that way about Amy. I did with Ralph and that's pretty much all I cared about. Someone needs to invite him to the party.

I sit in my first class and listen to my teacher talk about trigonometry. The numbers and letters danced in my brain trying to make their way in my memory. I couldn't think about trigonometry right now. All I could think about was the boy who has my pen.

Class went pretty fast because before I knew it the bell had rang. I jumped up and went back to my locker. I had a whole system going. I go to my locker back to back in my morning classes and only need to stop once to get a book for a study hall.
