"Hello? Anyone home?" My dad called out through our home.
"I'm in the kitchen!" I called back to him.
"Ah, there's my Rae." He came up behind me giving me a kiss on the cheek. "How was your day, Love?"
I contemplated on whether I should confront about the case, or if I should ease my way into the subject.
"Well, when I got up I had some of the breakfast you left me, then I watched a little bit of TV and then this interesting topic came on the news..." I watched him closely to see if he would react. I aimlessly messed with my hair as a distraction to not show that I was watching him so closely.
"Anything interesting on?" He countered back with, whilst flipping through the paper that was set on the worktop.
"Oh..well there were a few odd stories but nothing to exciting until I saw you come onto the screen." I said.
"Alright well I see where this is going," my father said, as he put the paper down, adjusting his glasses. My dad may have glasses but his muscular structure could still very well intimidate you.
"Dad, I just want to know more about the case then what you're telling me. There has to be more." My dad was quiet for a minute, probably deciding on how much to tell me, or what not to tell me.
"Well if you must know it all, I'll start from the beginning. First of all, there was a murder. And when the police got there, they found both Aiden and Harry covered in blood. The police found a gun on the ground, as well."
"Can't they just dust it for fingerprints?" I asked, cutting him off. He gave me a stern look, then he continued. "They did and found both men's fingerprints on it."
"If this is a murder case, why is Aiden going to court against Harry?" I asked still confused." That's the thing about this case," my father said, rubbing his hand on the back of his neck.
"No-one was there to witness anything. No-one knows why they were there and what they were doing."
"Except for Harry and Aiden." We both said in unison. My dad continued on. "Aiden, nor Harry have released that information. Both of them are continuing to keep to themselves."
"Well why would Aiden keep to himself if this information could put Harry away? I don't understand." I couldn't put any of the pieces together. If Aiden really wanted to put Harry away then he should reveal what he is keeping hidden. Unless what he knows could go against him and could hurt himself in the long run.
"I don't understand what they're hiding either. And I'm not sure why they are either. But I haven't been liking Aiden all that much either. He's..changed. I'm not sure if it's because of the case, but every time I bring up the subject of what happened that night, he gets very defensive." I wasn't surprised when he told me this. I knew Aiden, and I knew he would behave this way. My dad always sees the good in everyone, but with Aiden, he'll let everything pass, and try to ration out why he acts the way he does.
"I'm sure that's it dad." I muttered under my breath. "Oh, and I'm coming to work with you tomorrow." I called as I was on my way to my room.
"Great, make sure you're ready!"

"Alright Rae, I'm heading over to the conference area to meet with some specialists. Can you sort through these papers?" My dad asked pointing to the clump of files, business cards, and spare papers with notes written down on them.
"Sure." He started to leave as I quickly organised the task I was set to do.
The mess that was left upon his desk left me in utter shock. Usually this isn't like him, but I think this case has his mind left everywhere. Lawyers are supposed to be able to have evidence, and have proof, but this case wasn't showing anything to help us.
I was able to clear off his desk in the next three hours, until my eyes caught sight of a little note left on the corner of my fathers desk. It was today's date, set with a time. Labelled underneath was 'Meeting with Aiden'.
My dad had obviously forgotten about the meet because the conference he was in went through the time he was supposed to meet Aiden. Thinking about it for awhile, I decided to go to the conference room and tell my dad that I was going for a break.
Leaving the office building, I headed towards the place where my dad and him were originally supposed to meet. I had planned to talked to Aiden by myself to see if I could get anything out of him.
When I came across the next building I saw Aiden heading into it, so I quickly followed.
"Aiden!" He turned around, furrowing his eyebrow as he searched for the source calling his name. His eyes settled on me, turning his frown to a creepy smile.
"Look who we have here. I haven't seen you in weeks babe!" I pushed at his chest as he tried to place a kiss on my cheek.
"Aiden, can you just be serious for once? I want to ask you some questions."
Aiden became impossibly closer as I was talking. I took a few steps back trying to increase the space between us, only to have his hand be placed on my back to keep me from moving. Aiden was never one for personal space. The amount of cigarettes he smoked each day made him reek. He rubbed his hand up and down my back as he came to my ear.
"Did you miss me already? I missed you. And your arse looks amazing in that skirt." He whispered.
I immediately regretted my decision to where a skirt today. His other hand started to wander on my body. It took all the strength I could find to push him away from me. He looked back at me with smug grin, happy to have gained the reaction I gave him.
"Aiden, stop. I doing my job and my job says I have to ask you questions. Now can you keep to yourself and let me continue with what I came here to do?" I gave him a stern look, trying to get through to him.
"I was supposed to talk to your father, I'll answer to him. But until then, why don't you and I have some fun?" I gasped when his hand squeezed my bum. As quickly as I could, I pushed him away and made my away toward the exit. Aiden was left to laugh at my hasty exit.
I wanted answers and I knew my dad did too. Except I will stop at nothing to get them. In my mind I knew Aiden would act the way he did, but it was worth a try. There was only one other person who could give me the truth. Harry.
