Chapter 9

Cole Woodley

"When did this happen? Nancy and Paul together? like the hell?" Earl grumbled.

I just kept my focus on the window, peeping from time to time to see if Nancy and Earl were still dancing.

"you can't keep looking Cole. There's nothing you can do. I know you like her but Paul has her now. He always wins. Even without trying" Earl said sadly.

"I just can't believe this happened" I admitted

"I get you bro, but what are you going to do?" Earl asked

"There's nothing I can do Earl. I'll just stick with Sophie, I can't stand being alone right now" I replied

"The dreams right?"

"yeah, the dreams"

Nancy Stewart

As I wondered round the clinic, I couldn't help but think bout Cole. Why did his mood change all of a sudden? Paul said he was going to talk to the administration so I could get transferred to the other side but I don't think that will be a bright idea. I walk into the common room and find Alexis braiding a girl who's description fits the Emma girl I heard about. I walk to the galleria couch and sit with Sophie.

"Girl, you do not know how lucky you are" Sophie said

I gave her this questioning look indicating her to proceed

"Look, Paul is a really cool dude and all but he's also rich. He dated this girl called Naya and he almost bought her the world. Naya and Paul were both at the other side but we heard stories of how he spoilt her. Unfortunately for him, Naya got discharged and the last time she came to visit him, she broke up with him. Your British prince was at his worst, the brat sent private detectives to follow her around. We knew why she left him but couldn't talk cause it was because of one of our own. Naya and Cole liked each other and well"

She didn't need to finish, I already knew what had happened.

"Paul hated Cole so much and the barrier between us and the rich kids just became even worse" Sophie said. "Now I fear that Cole might actually like you"

My eyes just widened and my mouth dropped. Me? Liked me?

"That's not possible" I wrote on my pad

"Look Nancy, you're a cute girl. But I'm prettier and I like Cole though I try not to show it. So since you're dating Paul, I think you should sorta not flirt with Cole. Obviously you can't talk much but the way you look at him, touch and the time you spend with him." She said and walked away

The hell was this? Flirt with Cole? I never knew he felt that?  I'm gonna go talk to him.

I walk around and finally find his room., I put my ear on near the door and I can hear Earl talking to someone. I knock and there was silence.

"Come in"

I push the door open and Cole almost  immediately jumps off the bed. I wave at Earl who returns it with something like a sad smile. I sit near Cole and I write on my pad. From my peripheral view I could see he and Earl looking at each other confused.

I didn't know you liked me. And I didn't intend to make you feel bad. I am so sorry. Sophie told me everything about Naya and I understand why you and Paul don't like each other. I wish I had met you all at the same time that was probably a mistake. And Sophie has also told me to back off because she loves you if you don't know. And don't blame her. Paul spoke to the administration and they're moving me to the other side to receive treatment so I'll be able to speak again. He wants me with him. So by next week, I'll be there. I really wish you quick recovery and probably when we meet again it'll be on better terms. tell Earl I love him too. love you too xx. 

He read the note and smirked a bit. He looked up at me and hugged me tight. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to date Cole. After a while, I left his room for mine and I was exhausted. I hit my bed and just slept off.

5:10pm

"Hey hey, wake up Nancy Stewart. You have a visitor"

I woke up to see Nurse Jackie shaking me. She helped me get up and ushered me to the visiting room. I saw my Aunt and ran to her. Oh how I missed her.

"Nancy" she sighed

I could smell the outside world on her. I missed it so badly.

"How are you she asked?"

"Good" I croaked

"Are they treating you well?" she asked

"Yeah" I replied

"The administration called me and told me about moving you to the Platinum package and I told them I didn't have that much money. Did you know it costs 7 grand. But they said someone paid already. Do you have any idea who?"

I didn't know actually. Paul told me he would pay next week after I made my decision. Maybe he paid ahead.

"yeah, Paul my boyfriend" I said painfully

"Whoa honey you're improving but if it hurts, don't. Boyfriend uh, Ha ha got a rich one there. I heard that over there they would have you speaking in two months with the fancy treatments and all. So are you going?"

I had no choice. I made an enemy in Sophie, Alexis wasn't straight with me, I couldn't hang with Cole either and being with Earl would be awkward. I was alone here  and that was the last thing I wanted so why not just go be with the person that loved me.

"Yeah"
