Aisha's POV
This wedding drama has finally reached its climax, leaving me in Zain's bedroom. Sonia was helping me sit comfortably on the bed while Zain got dragged outside the room by his cousins.
I wasn't nervous, just uncomfortable with the whole scenario. The room was beautifully decorated with roses and candles yet it seemed more of a graveyard. I'd been having this feeling... like... as if someone was about to die since I signed those Nikkah (marriage) papers but then I realised that my soul was taking its last few breaths.
I often used to wonder what happened to girls who were married against their will. Did they just hate their husbands like I hated Zain? Or maybe they just got so frustrated with everything that they ended up committing suicide. Mum once told me that cowards kill themselves but the past year showed me different; remarkable amounts of bravery is needed to take such a step.
''Bhabhi (sister-in-law), are you....'' Sonia inquired.
''Aisha. Please call me Aisha.''
''Really Bhabhi...I mean Aisha? '' Her eyes showed a comforting sparkle.
"Bhabhi seems so formal." I nervously replied.
"I actually wanted to tell you something." She started fiddling with her hands.
''Yeah?''
''I wanted to talk to about...about Zain bhai (brother). I know I should've told you before the wedding but I tried and didn't get a chance.''
So there's more to learn about this guy? "You can tell me now if you want?"
She didn't make any eye contact with me but just looked at the floor, "He liked someone else before the marriage but...But trust me that was the past. He won't....''
Her heart was so pure. She was ashamed of something that wasn't even her fault. ''She's my best friend," I bluntly explained.
"Laila? Your best friend?"
I nodded in response. For a moment she stood there in shock. "Zain already told me about it before the marriage,'' I faked a smile.
"And you're okay with it?"
"Yeah, I think so." I clearly wasn't but I didn't want Sonia to be more worried. Her mind had already painted a beautiful canvas where Zain had accepted me as his wife and I didn't want to ruin it by telling her Zain's relationship with Laila.

Zain's POV
'Make sure you compliment her, girls love it!' squealed one of my elder female cousin. Yeah.. I'm not married to a girl, Aisha's more a witch.
After an hour of everyone giving me wedding night tips, I finally managed my escape.
Oh My Allah (God), this is going to be so hard. How do I talk to her? Why am I nervous? I'm never nervous around girls, they're the ones nervous (proud much?)!
OK JUST CALM DOWN! - My brain exploded. Just go inside the room and tell her how you didn't want this relationship. Tell her that you just love Laila and how you can't be a real husband to her.
But she already knows this!!
I entered my room (it's not even mine now, she's probably taken over it!), closed the door and looked towards her.
