Recap
Zain's POV
I adjusted her pillows gently so she was in a more comfortable position and was just shutting down her laptop when I came across something horrific!
WTH is this?
----
I read through the document once again to make some sense of it!
Dear Mr. Ahmer ,
Subject – Letter of Resignation
I would like to inform you of my irrevocable resignation. It's been a pleasure working wit-----------
Currently, It was just saved as a draft which gave me some assurance that I still had time. My brain just halted as I read these few sentences! Resignation letter? What? Why? I clearly remember her mentioning that she was supposed to start work in two weeks' time – And now this!
I brushed the thoughts aside and decided to sleep even though it was highly tempting to wake her up and question her regarding it.
Next morning
Zain's POV
It seemed like my brain was still running the marathon to find all the answers! The pieces just didn't add up. Her job was the dearest thing to her!
"HANG ON!" How the hell did I miss this?
Fahad's sister works there! She's probably quitting because of that – But then she could've done that ages ago. This must be connected to Fahad somehow- There's no other reason!
While I was busy in my own maze of thoughts, I saw Aisha walk in with breakfast. She put the tray down, looked at me and hysterically started laughing!
While I just stood there confused.... I raised my eyebrows to give her the cue.
"Is...HAHAH....Is that....HAHAHA... how you....HAHAHA.... tie a tie HAHAHAHA?"
I glanced at my reflection in the mirror and looked at the bundle of knots – I had been so disturbed by all these thought that I could barely function.
Aisha continued to laugh as I struggled to untie the knots.
After a five-minute quest, she finally decided to help my poor soul – "Stand still – I'll try."
The distance between us reduced as she slightly tip-toed to reach my neck. She quickly undid the knots and started tying it properly. (Not gonna lie but it looked like a typical Pakistani drama scene – Not that I watch any)
"There you go!"
"It's actually not that...There's a crease at this corner" I quickly changed my statement because I kinda didn't want to acknowledge it.
She came close to tie it again. "So how do you even know this?"
"know what? Tying a tie?"
"Yeah" – my inner-self was adamant that Aisha had particularly learnt the skill before getting married to 'you know who'. Obviously, she would've!
"My school uniform had a tie. "She responded and I instantly regretting my judgement.
As she started leaving, I grew anxious with the thought that she might send that email.
