Chloe has been in intensive care all night and I'm trying to relax
the nurse said she should be okay
aw man I just want her back damnit
now all of a sudden I feel a vibration in my jacket pocket, which is unusual because I don't get many calls nowadays...
"joshua hyland?" a rough masculine voice speaks through my phone
"yes?"
"hello this is sheriff daniel from the county detention center."
my stomach shifts
"how can I help you?"
"yes is Chloe there? she has not picked up her cell phone."
"no, sir she is in the ICU at the moment."
"oh dear. I'm sorry. but I just wanted to let her know something."
"I can take a message."
"okay. I regret to inform you that Chloe's father has passed." my heart drops.
holy crap.
"w-what?!"
"he hung himself in his bedroom last night. I'm sor-"
I hang up
