Chapter 14

Chloe

i swear it feels like we are driving 100 mph

i watch the lights on the side of the road zip past us.

we finally find exit 59 and rush to the hospital which is 3 minutes away without speeding.

We get there in a minute straight and park the car in the lower section.

when he stops the engine i jump out of the car.

we run to the elevator doors and shoot up to level 1 to sign in and find their rooms.

We see Sue at the front desk and she tells us that clara and my mom are in rooms next door to each other on level 3, the first and second doors in the hall.

we run to the same elevator we came up in and i press the #3 button ten times.

"Chlo, relax, they're gonna be fine."

i give him a look and he kisses me again.

i pull away when the doors make a ding and open.

we walk into my moms room. my dad is crying on one of chairs.

i go and hug him.

my mothers face was scratched up and bloody.

dried up blood was covering the left side of her face.

"Chlo can i be alone for a sec?"

my dad looks at me with these sad puppy eyes.

i nod and walk out of the room.

the next door down in clara's.

blood covers her whole head, which is wrapped up.

there are a sudden bunch of beeps and i freak out.

"DAD! SOMEONE! ANYONE?!"

Josh bursts in along with my father and 2 nurses.

"EVERYONE OUT!" the nurse in purple yells.

the other one drags me out

"CLARA!"

i scream and try to pull away from the nurse.

i sit on the ground when they lock me out of claras room.

i put my face in my hands and cry.

"Shh. Chlo. its gonna be ok."

he comes and wraps me in his arms.

i feel little butterflies from his embrace.

i hug him back and cry into his shoulder.

his head on my neck, giving me a tiny kiss.

we then hear something from my moms room.
