It had been 3 weeks since the wedding!! Grace was being home schooled till Christmas so she could get over the trauma of what happened.
They all decided to go out for dinner to the harvester in town. Cal ordered a mix grill grace had a chicken burger with extra chips and connie just had some chips and salad as she wasn't hungry.
Once they were all Finished grace begged her mum to get a "bucket" of ice cream. Connie quickly grave in and started tickling grace makeing all of them laugh.
"Just don't be sick ok missy?" Said connie with a smile.
"Ok I wont, just stop tickling me"
Once grace had eaten a massive exploding honeycombe dessert they all headed home stuffed.
Connie took the long way home and took them to one of the biggest hills in holby so they could look down on the city.
Meanwhile sam was in an extra bad mood as his wife had just left him after finding out some how what he did to grace. He was throwing everything that he could get his hands on around the kitchen... They stopped when something caught his eye.
He bent down and picked it up. It was a key. But it didn't open any of the doors in his house. It opened connies front door. He had a light bulb moment. He jumped in the car and raced to holby.
Back at the view connie had cuddled up to cal and grace was sat on the car bonnet takeing photos of cal and connie but also the view. They had been there for about 10 mins connie said
"Right come on let's get home and make a hot chocolate i think we have some marshmallows and cream"
Everyone jumped back into the car and connie drove. It only took them 10 minutes.
Co nice unlocked the door with grace then cal behind her. They went into the living room when some one grabbed connie and held something sharp against her throat. A knife.
"Sam... ok put the knife down we can talk" said calm as cal my as he could but his voice was wavering .
"There's nothing to talk about. She took my daughter away from me and now she is gonna pay! I can kill you all 50 different ways and not get caught"
Sam had a hand wrapped around connies throat and was slowly strangling her.
Grace had gone to the front door without anyone noticing and pick up something heavy that they used for emergency. She went through the hall way into the kitchen then round into the back of the living room. All she heard was
"Any last words connie?" Said sam
Grace swung the baseball bat as hard as she could and it hit sam straight into the back of the head. He was dead before he it the ground. As he fell he released connie and she fell to her knees gasping for air.
When sam had fallen grace dropped the bat and stumbled back.
"Grace?" Said cal
"He was gonna kill mum I had to do something" said grace now in tears.
"it's fine come here baby" said connie.
Grace just stood where she was and didn't move.
Cal had phoned a ambulance and the police.
They both came at once.
Dixie and iain walked in and went straight to connie as she had a mark on her neck and the knife had just cut her neck but it was only a graze.
They two police officers walked in. One female and one male.
"Right someone better start explaining something now!" Said the male officer.
"I can do better then that. I have it all on video."
"Nice going cal" said iain looking Andy sam and checking for a pulse. "He's dead"
The two officers went keep the video one and over again then final said.
"No further action will be taken as he, sam, is the one at fault here." Said the female voice in a soft voice. She walked over to grace and crop he'd down so grace was looking at her. "Grace well done you did the right thing. Nobody is going to take you away ok?"
"Ok" said grace bursting into tears. Connie got up of the floor and rushed to grace both the girls in tears.
"Right connie we do need to take you in I will call ahead and make sure zoe will do it ok?"
Some other people who looked like detectives took sam away and cleared the blood. Not that there was much.
Connie cal and grace jumped into the ambulance and headed to the ED grace on the bed with connie and connie was stroking her hair.
Zoe came into the cubicle to patch connie and noticed the silence.
"What's going in?" Said zoe with worry.
Cal handed her his phone.
"Oh my god" Zoe was utterly shocked as anyone would be.
She patched connie and they all went connies office.
