At Least I Tried

You stop because you think that you tried,
You pause for one second to realize that you never died,
You start to think about your side,
Do you want to fight, or do you want a ride?

You start to believe that you gave it your all,
You begin to think that you will never fall,
So what was the point of that call?
You try so hard to push yourself against a wall.

Wishes start to fade away from your mind,
You get a reward for being blind,
You get a choice to go out and find
whatever it is that got you resigned.

You look at others and say, at least I tried,
But you never even made it near,
All that you ever did was hide,
As your spirit got eaten up by fear.

Fear of trying but being a failure,
Fall a straight line,
Swim through your mistakes like a sailor,
You will be fine.
