Chapter Five

"Tell me about yourself, please." Cyro sighed sliding his hand over Vance's chest. He was staring blankly at the wall, his hand moving in small circles on Cyro's back. It was like he was trying to get him to sleep.

"What?" Vance chuckled. "You want my whole life story?" Cyro sighed slowly burying his face into Vance's neck. He didn't know why he bothered this was just a fling. There was no reason for Vance to tell him about himself. He was just a bored guy with to much money, enough money to entertain himself by keeping another guy in his apartment for a while, but he was still just entertaining himself right? That's horrible though, Cyro told himself, but why do I care? Cyro sat up slowly untangling himself from Vance's arm.

"I, uh, need to get home to my mother she's probably freaking out."

"You still live with your mother?"

"Yes! And I need to leave." Cyro hissed sliding out the side of the bed. Angrily searching for his clothes he suddenly felt guilty, What were you thinking? Why did I stay? What does Vance think of me? This has to be a joke, I'm nothing but a joke. Vance laid there for a moment watching wondering what he should say or how to say it.

"Uh, Cyro look I..." Cyro was obviously upset by something he'd done that much was obvious. Vance could see it in the way he kept his back to him as he pulled on his jeans. Sitting up he wasn't sure what to really say at a time like this. Was there really anything to say? He'd been bored and he'd picked up Cyro there wasn't really anything else to it. In truth he should have let him go home that morning but Vance had had this selfish feeling of wanting him to be there when he came back. Yes, Vance knew he had a problem with being lonely but he had thought just one night of something out of the usual for him would fix it. That after a one night stand with Cyro maybe he could go back to living his life on schedule, go back to when he was content with that.

"I, uh," Cyro cleared his throat finally looking back at Vance, he shook a little bit of hair out of his face. "I had a nice time with you so thanks for that."

"Yeah, same." Vance smiled a little, he wondered if it looked as fake as it felt. "Hey, um, can I call you, maybe, sometime."

Cyro looked at him not sure he wanted to even respond to that. Why would I want you to call? Cyro asked himself harshly, because last night and this morning was hot and you'd like to fuck him again! Cyro blushed suddenly as the devil in him answered his question. He nodded before quickly rattling off his number secretly hoping that Vance could remember it and then turned and left the apartment.

'I can take being lonely but if I get to bored I'll kill myself.' Vance's word repeated softly in his head as he unlocked his door stepping into his home. Slowly he walked up the hall, into the kitchen where his mother stood cutting vegetables for something she was cooking. He stood there for moment in the doorway, knowing she knew he was there, after five minutes he cleared his throat and she looked over her shoulder at him. She looked him up and down noting everything about his appearance in her mind.

"You look like a lost soul, dear." His mother sighed as she set down her knife turning to look at him. "You look like you've been out doing things a teenager would do."

"I'm still twenty two-"

"And you still have a curfew, where were you last night and don't lie to me." She cut in suddenly sending him her sharpest look.

"I was with a friend." Cyro shifted on his feet nervously, Vance was definitely not a friend but he couldn't say what he was to his mother.

"And you didn't want to tell me because why?"

"I was drinking I wasn't really thinking and he took me back to his place." Cyro replied nervously knowing that was only half the truth. He was starting to wish he hadn't left Vance's place to be honest. His mother's distrusting gaze was hard to deal wth but it was something he grew up with, she never trusted him. Even at a very young age she would tell her church she saw the evil in him, even though after years of him trying to prove her wrong she finally stopped saying it but she still looked at him the same.

"Alcohol is poison, don't poison yourself." She snipped turning around back to her vegetables. "I'm done speaking to you."

"Yes Mom, thank you." Cyro sighed as he left the kitchen doorway not sure what he was going to do next. He stepped into his room pulling his phone from his pocket giving it a quick look over noticing a missed call from an unknown number. A part of him knew it was Vance but he slightly wished it wasn't. His finger hovered above the screen til Vance's words floated back into his mind again 'I can take being lonely but if I get to bored I'll kill myself.' Cyro hit the call back, holding his breath as it rang.

"Vance Ashtor."

"Hey Vance it's Cyro." He waited an odd silence filling between them for a moment. "I saw you called and just wanted to call you back."

"Thank you, I was worried because you left in such a huff I wanted to make sure you were alright."

"Shouldn't I be checking on you?" Cyro laughed slightly before realizing what he had said. Silence clouding between them on the phone line, he was so embarrassed saying that seemed so crass. "Oh, I mean, it's just, the thing you said the other day, I didn't mean to offend you, did I?"

"It's fine you didn't mean anything by it." Vance replied.

"I really am sorry."

"It's fine, look can I take you out for coffee tomorrow?" Vance sighed clearly tired with the subject. Not that Cyro blamed him but the new subject was an even more awkward one.

"I-I suppose that would be alright, I guess, if your not busy."

"Yeah, I'll text you later I have to get back to work right now."

"Sure okay."

"Bye."

"Bye." Cyro wasn't sure if he'd heard him since he hung up so quickly
