A Growing Family

Chapter 9

When the Castle pair got to The Old Haunt, they were met with their four best friends already in their favorite booth. They should have expected them to be there, but they were still surprised.

"Hey guys!" Castle greeted.

"What did you guys want to talk to us about?" Espo said immediately.

"How about some drinks?" Castle said while Kate slid into the booth. She smiled at her husband. He was going to have two detectives, and their wives killing him soon if he didn't start talking. Castle started walking to the bar.

"Not so fast," Ryan said as he and Esposito grabbed him by the jacket and pulled him into the booth. "What did you guys want to talk to us about?" Esposito repeated.

"Well, there is going to be another Richard Castle running around the city, because we're pregnant!" Kate blurted out.

The booth erupted. Lanie and Jenny shrieked so loud people looked over concerned and ran around the booth to hug their friend. Esposito and Ryan clapped Castle on the back. They would have hugged Kate but the girls were still hugging her and shrieking.

"Careful! You're going to hurt the babies!" Kate said. At that moment, realizing what she had said, she looked at Castle worried, and was met with the same look. Everyone in the booth looked at them.

"Excuse me, what? Babies?" Lanie asked first. Rick and Kate smiled sheepishly. "Go on. Out with it," Jenny continued.

"We were going to wait to tell you until later in the night, but I guess now is as good a time as any," Castle started. "We're having sextuplets!" Kate finished.

So many jaws were on the floor they should have felt bad for the person cleaning. Espo and Ryan started counting on their fingers just like Castle had the night they found out. Their wives just laughed at them. They ran and hugged their friend again.

After hugs were passed around amongst the friends, they talked for hours. A night with friends was just what the couple needed. But, good times don't always last forever. And that's just what happened.

A/N: This probably sucks. I just felt like I needed to get you guys a chapter. I know I haven't updated in forever, and I'm sorry but it will probably just get worse. I already had gymnastics everyday and AP classes, and now I have a school play that I'm in. I will try my best but with all that and writer's block that I'm experiencing (also part of why you haven't gotten a chapter and why this one probably sucks) I can't promise chapters that often. I'm really sorry guys. I understand if y'all don't want to read anymore. If you do decide to keep reading, the next chapter will be kinda angsty.
