"What?"

"I invited Vince over." She pushed her brunette hair behind her ears. "I knew you and him had your differences but he said he needed to work with you on a project."

"Why didn't you text or call me first? Maybe I was busy." Penny swallowed the lump in her throat. "When will he be here?"

"Five to ten minutes." I glared icily at Penny. I'm seriously starting to question our friendship.

My blue eyes made their way over to Bryce and he gave me a look. What are we going to do? I shrugged and ran my hand through my hair.

Ding - Dong.

My wide eyes hit the door. He's here. I rubbed my now sweaty hands down my jeans and breathed. My brother placed his hand on my shoulder supportingly.

"Come on guys, he's just another teenage boy. Chill out." Spoke Penny, confused by our nervous actions.

"Shut up and stay in the living room. He doesnt need to know you're here. I'll get the door." Bryce seemed to lose all emotion and walked away. Penny followed with my younger brother. I gulped then started towards the brown front door. My eyes fell upon the gold doorknob.

Here goes nothing. I yanked open the door and Vince stood on my front porch with a smirk on his lips. "Sweet greetings, Rosey." I cringed at the nickname but quickly recovered for a smile.

"Hey, Vince. What are you doing here?" Trying to kill me. He took a step into my home and studied the interior. I softly shut the door and faced him.

"We need to work on the project, Rosey." Vince spoke without facing me. I bit my lower pink lip and sighed. The liar turned around and faced me. "Penny said I could come over." I gave him a fake smile and mentally cursed out my best friend.

"Well, I guess we should, um, go up to my room." A devilish grin played on his lips.

"You haven't even given me a tour yet." I punched his shoulder and headed over to the staircase when...

"Erwy! Erwy!" My eyes shot to my brother. Oh shit. Carter held onto my leg with a big ole' smile. "Bry told me to shu-up." Only a few seconds later did our older brother come out with a nervous smile.

"Um, I-" His eyes landed on Vince and his smile dropped. "Who's this?" I looked over at Vince who shared the same deadpan look as Bryce.

"This is Vince. We're working on a project together." Bryce held out his hand.

"I'm Bryce, their older brother." Vince hesitantly shook Bryce's hand then smiled. They let go and Bryce grumbled something under his breath. "Where are you working on this project?"

I pointed upstairs and Bryce glared at me. Okay, maybe my bedroom isn't the best idea. "So, um, we're heading up now."

I awkwardly started walking up the stairs and a few moments passed until Vince started following me. Thank God. I thought they were about to kill each other with the stares they were using.

I reached out and opened up my bedroom door. Vince entered and started picking up things and observing them. I went to close the door and...,

"Keep the door open!" I groaned but reluctantly left it open. I sat on my bed where my laptop was and opened it.

"You have a nice room." I muttered a thanks and started searching up things for our project. "Am I the only guy who's been in here?"

I literally chocked on my own spit. Vince had to help me calm down from the little fit. "No...comment."
