Niam One-Shots

Happy Birthday Payno

It's been a really long time and I apologize so much for that.

Here's a one shot I wrote. it's gonna be short because it's just a drabble.

Summary: Today is Liam's birthday and Niall plans on treating him like a king.

Work Text:

When Liam woke up this morning he felt different. He had this weird feeling in his stomach and he just felt so happy and energetic. He knew today was his birthday, but he didn't expect to be this excited about it.

But as Liam soon figured out, it wasn't the fact that it was his birthday making him this excited. In fact, he didn't know what it was until Niall popped up from under the sheets with red swollen lips and a smile as bright as the sun.

"Happy birthday Payno." Niall smiled before going back under the sheets.

Liam just cursed and fell back against his pillow.

It was later that day when all the boys were sitting backstage before their concert. Louis, Harry, Niall, Lou, Lottie, Lux, Preston, Julian and the rest of the crew were all currently huddled around Liam singing him happy birthday.

Liam blew out the candles and wished for the only thing he ever wished for on his birthdays.

"What did you wish for?" Niall asked as he cuddled into Liam's side.

"What I always wish for." Liam said looking down at Niall as Niall looked up.

"And what would that be?" Niall smirked.

"To have you. Forever." Liam whispered as if to not ruin the moment.

"Liam," Niall said turning serious "you know that you have me forever already."

"Do I?" Liam joked.

"Of course you do." Niall smiled and leaned up to kiss Liam on the lips.

Their lips stayed connected innocently, just showing their love. But Niall decided to be a tease and swipe his tongue across Liam's bottom lip, begging for access. Liam obliged and they began to make out heatedly until they heard someone clear their throat.

"Hey, keep it in your pants until we get back to the hotel yeah?" It was Louis.

Liam just flipped him off as Niall laughed and they broke apart.

"Shut up Louis." Niall blushed.

It was about halfway through the concert when it came time to do the "sing happy birthday to a fan even if it's not their birthday" bit of the show. But tonight, Niall made sure they sang happy birthday to Liam and Liam only.

So Dan started playing the keys and all the boys started to sing. Niall grabbed a champagne bottle that had glitter in it (there were kids for crying out loud) and when they finished singing he blew the glitter all over Liam.

Niall has never seen Liam's smile so bright.

"Gimme a hug lads, come ere." Liam said and all four boys went into the hug.

Liam and Niall were across from each other and made eye contact as they all hugged. Liam's smile wide on his face and Niall's adoration in his eyes shining bright.

"I love you so much." Liam whispers to Niall.

"I love you too, Payno." Niall smiled.

They gave each other one last knowing look before pulling away and getting on with the concert.

When they got back to the hotel, Niall dragged Liam right up the stairs and into their shared room.

"I have one last surprise for you." Niall said as he lead Liam towards the bedroom.

"Niall, you already gave me about 50 presents." Liam rolled his eyes.

"This one is the best one, promise." Niall said. "Stay here, I'll be right back."

Liam sat on the edge of the bed and waited for Niall to return to the bedroom. Niall came back 2 minutes later with a wrapped present.

"Open it." Niall handed it to him.

Niall sat down next to him as Liam ripped the paper. Once it was all gone Liam threw it to the ground and examined the present sitting in his lap.

"Liam and Niall
     Together Forever"

Liam opened up the book to see pictures of them from the xfactor all the way until this given day when they took selfies backstage before the show.

Liam flipped through all the pages silently remembering every moment of every picture in the book. From the day that he first met Niall when they shared a room at boot camp. The day they Liam bought Niall his first guitar and Niall literally cried. The first day they went to the states and all the adventures they made. Every stage selfie and backstage selfie they've ever taken were there. Even all the private pictures that are lost on both of their camera roles were in there.

Liam tears up thinking about how 5 years has just passed him by. He feels like just yesterday he was meeting Niall for the first time and falling in love with those blue eyes. Liam can't believe he's spent 4 years in a relationship with someone he knows he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Can't believe that his forever has already started.

Liam curses himself in his head before turning and tackling Niall onto the bed in a swarm of hugs and kisses.

"I love you. I love you. I love you so fucking much." Liam saying during the kisses.

"I love you too Payno." Niall giggles as Liam continues to pepper his face in kisses.

"I'm serious," Liam says stopping the kisses and looking into Niall's bright eyes, "I love you, and I'm going to spend forever with you."

Niall's eyes were full of promise as he whispered back, "I'm going to spend forever with you too."

And that was all Liam needed to attach his lips to Niall's and fall in love with those blue eyes all over again.
