When we arrive at school, I can barely stay awake.
I go straight to my locker and have to put in my combination at least four times before it opened.

After I finally opened it someone slams it back shut.
"Really?!" I shout.
I hear laughing from behind and turn around to see Dallas.
I manage a slight smile, "Why?" I chuckle, turning back to put in my combination for the fifth time.

"I don't even know" he laughs.
"Nice," I roll my eyes.
He holds out his hand, and I give him a high five, then he pulls me into a "bro hug".
I open my locker again and throw my books in, then slam it back shut.
I let out a long, exaggerated sigh and run my hand through my hair.

"Are you okay?" Dallas asks, taking a step closer.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I lie.
"Ohh no, I know when a girl says that they're 'fine', something's wrong,"
I laugh and cover my face with my hands.
He pries them off of my face and holds down my wrists.

"Tell me," he say softly.
Something down in the pit of my stomach shifts and I suddenly feel like I can open up to him.
But being as stubborn as I am, I resist the urge to tell him about my awful morning with Roxy.

"Why do you want to know so bad?" I look down.
"Because your my friend and I care about you?" he replies.
I look back up.
He cares.
I finally give in.
"Just, this morning me and my best friend got into a really bad fight," I say softly
"Ohh, I see. Well what were y'all fighting about?" he asks, looking directly into my eyes.
"

Uhh, you probably wouldn't understand..."
"What makes you say that?" he smirks.
"It's a girl problem," I shrug.
"I have two sisters that don't know what whispering is, I think I might know a little something," he laughs.
I chuckle in return, "Its not a big deal," I shake my head.
"Okay I guess... But hey," he puts his hand on my shoulder.
"If shes really your best friend, she'll come around,"
I nod.

"What class do you have now?" he asks as he takes his hand off my shoulder.
"English,"
"Oh, I have science," he replies.
We finish up our small talk with a high five and then head our different ways.

I kept thinking about how sweet Dallas was to me. It felt nice having someone that really cared.

Before I reached the door to my English class, I ran straight into
Nathan.

"Sorry," I say, looking up since he was like, five inches taller than me.
He smiles in return and holds out his hand.
I give him a high five and keep walking.
For some reason, I felt like someone was staring at me, so I turn around to see Nathan looking back at me, while still walking forward.

I smiled at him, but he just turned around and kept walking. Confused, I also turned back around to find myself running into yet another guy.

"Sorry," he murmured as he brushed pasted me, tightly clutching his phone in his hand.
I've seen him before, but I didn't know his name.
"It's fine," I called after him.

After taking a few more steps I finally reached my English class, right before the bell rung.
