Chapter 3 {The Everlasting Smile}

I woke up to an old song called "I Wanna Go Back" that I used to listen to all the time when I was thinking about Nathan. I listened to the lyrics and realized they were describing my exact situation
I wanna go back to the way it was,
When I knew that you were mine,
I wanna know how it feels to love,
The pure and easy kind

I felt my eyes tearing up just thinking about Skylar and Nathan.

The words swirled around my head once again.I tried as hard as I could to push them out of my head and thankfully I got my mind off of them

After I took a quick shower and brushed my teeth,I put on a gray sweatshirt that read "Hipsta Please" on the front with a black undershirt underneath it.I put on some black skinny jeans and gray vans and put on my black hat with the batman symbol on the front.

I headed downstairs and grabbed and apple on the way out the door to Roxanne's house.

Yes yes I know brook told me everything you were right he doesn't like me or care about me at all he obviously loves Skylar and I already know I can't change his mind so don't try to convince me not to interfere because I'm not going to!
Well okay then...

I was so upset from even talking about it I didn't talk to her the rest of the way to school.

When we got to school I apologized to Roxanne for freaking out on her and we walked to my locker together.When we got there, there was a boy putting his books into the locker right next to mine which used to be empty.He was actually kind of cute and Roxane could tell I thought so by the way I was looking at him.

He was about my height (which is in between tall and short), he had black hair that had been gelled up into a fohawk,and he was wearing one of those Nike shirts that said "Just Do It" and some jeans.

In the middle of my thoughts, Roxanne came up behind my and pushed me straight into my locker which made him drop all of the books he was holding, and make me look like a total clutz.

We bent down at the same time and started to pick up the books.When there was only one book left we accidentally grabbed it at the same time. (And our hands touched!!)

We chuckled at the same time still holding the book.

In the corner of my eye I saw a sight that made me stop laughing:Skylar and Nathan walking by, holding hands.When he walked passed us,he actually made eye contact but made no facial expression.

I felt the book slip out of my grasp
