The sweet aroma of freshly prepared paazh kozhukattai still lingered through the kitchen air.
Warm.
Soft.
Comforting.
The scent wrapped around the house like an embrace, carrying with it a rare kind of peace Akshu hadn’t felt in weeks.
For the first time in what felt like forever, her chest didn’t feel painfully heavy.
Hope.
That was what filled her now.
A trembling, fragile hope.
Tonight.
Tonight she would finally tell him everything.
No more silence.
No more hiding behind fake smiles.
No more pretending that pushing him away was for his own good.
She was tired.
Tired of hurting him.
Tired of hurting herself even more.
A faint smile unknowingly touched her lips as she gently closed the vessel lid and wiped the steam moisture from her fingers.
