Chapter 9: Above the Clouds
..........................................................................
Cerise/Cherry's POV
Tonight is the night. I went out to town with Baby 5 a few times for "shopping" while I actually looked for some roads that weren't used that often. I also found out that a transport ship was going to sail out tonight, so I decided to get onboard of that ship, secretly of course.
I went over to my nightstand and opened the drawer, picked up the map of Dressrosa and a pencil then I walked over to my coffee table. I sat down on the floor instead of the sofa and then started to draw the route I'm supposed to go when I run away. Before drawing the line over the route, I wrote on top of the map "Escape Plan >:)". (Lol)
When I was done, I put the map under my pillow then went out of my room and into the kitchen. I brought a bag with me as well. I need to prepare some food for my little journey. As I walked down the hallway, I stumbled upon Diamante.
"Ho, Cherry! Where are you going with that bag?" He asked and leaned down. He was a bit creepy, but I knew how I could get past him. I had prepared for stuff like this.
"Just going to the kitchen! Oh, and I want you to keep this for me for a while." I said then dug my hand into the bag. I pulled out a plastic bag full of cherries that I had in my room before. "You see, if I leave them in my room, Sugar would just come and eat them. So can you keep them for a while." I asked him, sweetly.
"I can't take it! Your cherries are too precious, aren't they?" He said, but I decided to keep insisting.
"Come on! I know that you can take care of them." I said and held the bag in front of him.
"Stop it! You're making it sound like I'm a reliable man."
I sighed out, annoyed. "Just take it!" I said, loudly. Noticing my mistake, my eyes widened slightly. "Please!" I said in a small voice.
"Oh, come on I can't-"
"Fine, I'll just stop then." I said and slowly turned around.
"Alright, I'll take it if you insist so much!" He said and took the bag from me. I smirked and then continued to walk down the hall.
When I reached the stairs, something slimy fell in front of me from the ceiling. Then it formed into the body of none other than Trebol. "Trebol-sama! You startled me." I said with a fake smile.
"Behehehe! Really?" He said and came a little bit too close. I backed away a little. "Ne, ne! Where are you going, Cherry?" He asked and kept coming closer to me.
"More importantly, shouldn't you be around Sugar? I've been hearing these rumors that there is a pedophile in the castle. What if he tries to do something to Sugar while she sleeps!" I said, fake panicking.
"Oh, no! I have to go and see what she is doing!" He said and disappeared. He can be so stupid sometimes.
I slowly neared the kitchen when suddenly I heard a high-pitched voice. "Cherry!" Don't laugh! Don't laugh! I told myself and turned around to see the yet another giant, Pica. "Are you going to the kitchen? Why? We just had lunch." He asked. I almost burst out laughing, but bit my tongue before it happened.
"I'm just gonna get some cherries. Sugar stole mine, again. I seriously have to tell Monet that she should allow her sister to eat grapes, otherwise she attacks my cherries." I lied, which seemed to work. "Oh, and by the way! I have to tell you something, but don't get mad." I said and he nodded. "I heard some of the soldiers at the Underground Trade Port gossiping about you. I think they were talking about your voice." I told him and he tensed up then frowned.
"I'll show them a piece of my mind!" He said and started to walk away.
Finally I entered the kitchen. Good, no one was here! Not even the cook. Probably because we just had lunch. He must be on a break or something. I went over to the fridge and grabbed some vegetables and fruits. Then I went over to one of the berry bowls and picked out all the cherries. I went over to the stove and saw some leftovers of our lunch. I picked a lunch box from one of the cabinets and filled it with the food. Then I cut the vegetables and put them in a smaller lunch box. I picked out a fork and a knife then grabbed a bottle and filled it with water. I put everything in my bag then left the kitchen.
As I walked back to my room, I didn't bump into anyone else, luckily. I put my bag under my bed and went out to the balcony. I needed some fresh air. As I stood, leaned against the railing, I couldn't help but to remember the night where Doflamingo almost kissed me. What the hell was up with that? Why would he do that? He is just a pervert. That has to be why. I'm like half his age.
I watched the sky as birds flew by. I gave a hopeless sigh. "I wish I could fly." I said out loud to myself.
"I can help you with that." Someone from behind said and leaped me up in their arms.
I turned my head and saw Doflamingo. "O-Oi! Put me down!" I said and pushed against his chest. Damn, his chest is hard like a stone! He carried my bridal style and I couldn't help but blush. "D-Doflamingo! Put me down!" I whined and kept struggling.
"Shut up and wrap your arms around my neck. You wouldn't want to fall now, would you?" He said, grinning. That stupid grin of his! I just want to punch it away. But that would probably be impossible.
"What are you doing here, anyway?" I asked.
"Just came to visit you. I wanted to see how you've been doing. Are you getting used to the palace and the family?" He said with that stupid grin. Doesn't his cheek hurt from grinning so much? "More importantly, are you getting used to me?" He asked, after a moment.
I don't know why but my cheeks reddened slightly when he asked that. What the hell was wrong with me?! "Yeah, yeah! I'm getting used to it." I said, faking a smile.
His grin got slightly bigger. "Good! Let's go then!" He said and jumped into the air. I automatically wrapped my arms around his neck.
"W-W-What are you doing?! Put me down! Oi, birdbrain!" I yelled, as we got higher and higher in the sky. I hugged him even tighter as I could now see the whole Dressrosa. I hid my face in his chest, out of fear.
Doflamingo's POV
As we got higher and higher, her hold on me tightened and she eventually hid her face in my chest. She was just too adorable. "Come on, open your eyes now." I told her, once we were above the clouds.
She slowly turned her head and opened her eyes. Then her eyes widened and a big smile appeared on her face. "Sugoi!" She exclaimed as she looked around. "It's so beautiful!" She said and watched as some birds flew by. Then she giggled.
I watched her with a smile on my face. Her giggle sounding like music to my ears. "Do you like it?" I asked after a while. She turned her head towards me and nodded her head, excitingly. "I'll take you up here whenever you want to. Just let me know."
