Chapter 12: Blooming

Chapter 12: Blooming

Cerise/Cherry's POV

"Are you ready?" Diamante asked and I gulped, before nodding hesitantly. Suddenly he flung his sword towards me and my cat senses jumped in. I jumped backwards immediately. "Well, you're fast! But you need to defend the attack, not dodge it." He said and motioned for me to come towards him. He flung his sword again and this time I blocked it with the sword I had in my hand, but the strength of his attack made me drop the sword on the ground. Diamante sighed out, hopelessly. "Let's try that again. Hold the sword tightly."

After a few attempts, which resulted in me failing every one of them, Diamante gave up. I just flopped down on the ground from relief. Finally it was over...

"Aw, come on, Cherry! Show some more interest!" Doflamingo said from his feathery sofa, in front of the pool. I so wanted to snuggle into that sofa, but Doflamingo was surrounded by whores, so no thank you! Not to mention that I'm training here.

"I don't want to use a sword!" I said and pouted with a frown.

"Then start your training with guns. Let's see how that goes." Doflamingo said and threw a gun at me, which I almost failed at catching.

I examined the gun and scrunched up my nose. "No, thank you!" I said and just threw the gun behind me, into a bush. "I don't like fighting." I said and looked down on the ground, trailing my finger over its rough surface.

"Waka-sama! Please look at me!" A whiny voice said and I looked up to see one of the whores around Doflamingo had caught his attention.

I just looked away, disgusted. Then I stood up and left into the palace.

Doflamingo's POV

"Waka-sama! Please look at me!" The ginger beside me said and turned my face towards hers with her delicate hands. I smirked at her and leaned in to kiss her, but something I saw from the corner of my eye caught my attention.

I turned my head slightly to the right to look at Cherry. She stood up, with an annoyed expression, and left the pool. I stared after her and once she disappeared behind the gates, I turned my attention to the water of the pool.

"Waka-sama, you are not paying me any atet-" I pushed the woman off of me and stood up. I decided to go after Cherry and see what was up with her.

When I reached her door, I thought about just turning back around and leave, but something inside me didn't allow me. I knocked on the door and waited for an answer. When I didn't get one, I just entered the room. Then I saw Cherry on her bed. She was laying in her bed with closed eyes, a pair of headphones on her head. (Headphones does exist in the One Piece world, if you didn't know. I've seen them twice. First before Brook's concert and the second time one of the mermaids from Fishman Island wore a pair of shell headphones.) She was quietly singing along to the song.

"Is anybody there?

Does anybody care?

I sat down on the side of her bed and she didn't seem to notice me. The volume was really high since I could hear the song myself.

"They say pain is an illusion

This is just a bruise

Her voice is really pretty.

Then her eyes opened and she noticed me. She sat up straight in a flash and took off the headphones. "H-How long have you been here?!" She asked, panicked.

I just smiled. "A few seconds. Your voice is pretty." I complimented her, which made her blush. I don't know why but every time I talk to her I get this weird feeling in me, and whenever I see her, she just draws my attention to herself.

My hand raised up to her face and went under her chin. I lifted her head up slightly and then let my hand wander to the side of her face, to remove a bit of her hair from her face. Then I caressed her soft cheek. "What have you done to me?" I asked, which surprised her.

"W-W-What do you mean?" She asked, stuttering.

I just shook my head and stood up. "Forget it." I said and left her room.
