Chapter 14-Isaac

The door bell rang, the noise resounding through the house. I shuffled to the door, after having been woken up with a start. I didn’t realise I had hardly any clothes on until it was too late and the door was open. A shriek hit my eardrums and I stood back, yawning and scratching my head.

Blair would have done that really funny gaspy-thing when she gets surprised.

I shook my head slightly, a curl landing in front of my eyes as I surveyed my visitor.

‘Hi there, Abi,’ I said, blinking at her, my head pulling back a bit.

‘Isaac, you naughty boy! Walking around with no clothes on!’ Abi squealed at me, sounding a bit like a pig, but hey, she still looked pretty in her vest top and flowery skirt.

‘He’s always getting naked, aren’t you, Isaac?’

I spun round, almost knocking into Blair, who was there with a little smirk on her face. Slapping her hand just made her laugh and point her finger at me really weirdly. I lifted an eyebrow at her, looking pointedly at her tiny hand.

She let out a little breath of a chuckle, ‘I do this when I laugh. I know, it’s weird, but shh.’ She lifted a finger up to her lip, before blinking her eyes at me a few times. ‘Hey, you can raise an eyebrow! I’m so jealous,’ she said, wrinkling up her face a tiny bit, making me laugh.

With that, she gave Abi a swift smile and turned, jogging up the stairs. I gaped at her behind and the way she swayed, mentally slapping myself for being a pervert.

She so secretly does it to me though.

Pleased with myself, I let Abi in only to have her shriek again and throw her arms around me, holding me close as if we were sardines in a tin. I wrinkled my nose at her perfume, and, feeling slimy, slowly prised myself away from her vice-like embrace.

‘...What exactly are you here for, Abi?’ I asked, my voice thick with caution. Abi was ridiculously unpredictable, ‘Daddy’ being able to pay for anything. She was known for turning up at people’s houses and announcing they were off to Spain for a week.

‘I just wanted to see you, babe!’ she said with a bright smile, ‘and I would tell you to put some clothes on, but I like it a little too much, to be honest.’

I frowned at her calling me ‘babe’ and again when she told me not to put on my clothes. I couldn’t work out what she was getting at so I just laughed, ‘Yeah...okay, so I have a lot of coursework and stuff to do. Maybe now isn’t the best time?’

Liar. You just want to spend time with Blair before Rose gets back.

I sighed at my thoughts, which were quickly wiped from my mind as I saw a disappointed expression cross Abi’s face.

‘But I brought ice cream and Twilight,’ she protested, holding up her bag, ‘look!’

‘I’d, uh...It’s okay, Abi, really. We can do this next week, yeah? Or some other time? It’s just today isn’t the best day,’ I knew if she got out the ice cream and combined it with that killer puppy-dog face of hers, she’d have me.

She was squinting at the floor and looked up, ‘That’s okay. Who’s that girl?’

‘Blair. Family friend. Bye, Abi!’ I sang, relieved she had caved in.

She walked hesitantly back to the door, he mouth moving to the side as she gave me a once-over, ‘I hope you don’t fancy her, Isaac,’ she said, looking patronising, ‘because I wonder what your parents would think of that. Saying stuff like she says...not good, hey?’
